We both had one of the specials, Hake with a wild mushroom risotto , and it was cooked perfectly. Flakes of fish, still soft and moist. Would have been perfect with a salad garnish, but I can't knock off a point for that.

The Harbourmaster sits above the shops at the end of Nelson Quay in Milford. The climb up to first floor level means meals are served against a backdrop of the busy waterway and the popular marina. So there is plenty to look at as you wait for your food.
In this spot it is appropriate that the menu is definitely unafraid of seafood. But what seafood. The humble haddock and chips involves a really fresh local fillet lightly encased in a beer batter. Jacket chips were just right as were the mushy peas. The king prawns were king-sized and juicy. Plaice and scallops were on offer, too. Meat lovers are not forgotten. Aged black Welsh steaks were available beside sirloins, rib eyes and fillet. There was lamb; there were burgers and vegetarian dishes. One member of our party tried the homemade pie of the day: chicken and blue cheese. It was a surprising but well balanced choice.
Decent beers are on tap and there is a reasonable list of reasonable wines.
