Description: The Old Mill in Killearn, formerly a weaving mill and now a characterful pub and restaurant within this charming 18th Century steading, complete with ceiling beams and cosy snug. Our beer garden, with childrens play area, offers a very relaxed alfresco dining option for both lunch and dinner, which is always a winner when the sun is shining. During more typical Scottish weather you can warm up by the open fire with a wee dram. Our menu offers the best of local Scottish produce, responsibly sourced, lovingly prepared and skillfully presented.

We left Killearn nearly 30 years ago, and visited recently. It hss not changed in that time. The welcome was friendly and the Cullen Skunk was tasty and filling. Great pub with s good range of beers st reasonable prices set in a pretty village

This unassuming village pub/restaurant is a delight. Small, homely snug bar and separate dining room make a welcome change from pubs where drinkers and diners are cheek-by-jowl in one area. Dining in the snug IS an option, but would you?
The bar is reasonably stocked with real ales and the rest, but is not up to CAMRA standards - but you come here for the food, which is home cooking in the very best sense of the term. The staff are friendly and helpful and food prices are extremely reasonable. It could be very easy to miss this place, but drive slowly through the village, and pay The Old Mill a visit.

The Old Mill was recommended by locals and we were not disappointed. We had an excellent lunch of Cullen Skink (smoked haddock soup) and chicken and leek pie for under £10. The service was friendly and fast ( but not too fast). It still retains a local pub feel and is a welcome change from the over priced gastro pub you might expect to find in this wealthy commuter village.
We returned for supper and were equally happy with food and service.

When we arrived at this restaurant, having previously booked a table, we were the only people there. We were seated at a very small two seater table. One seat was not just outside the gent's loo, the seat was half way across the door - it was just as well that we were the only people in the restaurant and no one wanted to go to the loo! The starter was fine but the main course, which was bog standard pub food, was delivered to the table the moment we had finished it. The waitress apologized and said the kitchen was busy - there were two other people in the restaurant by this time! We were not impressed!

Stopped off for lunch here as we were passing through the area. Didn't know anything about the place so had no expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. A very varied menu with all the usual pub classics and plenty of tradition Scottish fare. I had haggis fritters to start and then cod goujons, both were extremely tasty and great value for money. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again.
