Service with a smile, a good menu and a wide range of drinks. I enjoyed traditional battered fish, tasty and well cooked and the wife enjoyed the BBQ spare ribs some of which left in a doggy bag even though we don't have a dog!

We used to visit this pub years ago but it was then taken over by a chain and it's standards went down as its prices went up. We re-discovered it some months ago and have now been back several times. We have been there for lunches and a casual "drop-in " for a drink - they have some good beer which my partner likes. We have mainly taken there "light" lunches and we can thoroughly recommend their Chicken Caesar salad and their prawn and chorizo linguine. There is plenty of parking. We would like to have dinner there next time we visit it.

Had a lovely meal after taking the chance of seeing if there was a table available - I had the steak burger and bread & butter pudding and it was sure heaven. Had to wait a while - not only because they were very busy (sounds like they had a load of regulars) but it was cooked fresh. Compliments to all involved and i would recommend this place to anyone as it was worth the money.

Had lunch with a group of 8 friends on Wednesday 22nd January 2014. On our first visit 3 months ago we found that "our table" was occupied, so we had to wait until another became free. That was not the problem on this occasion, but the service was terrible. We ordered main courses, a bottle of wine and 2 bottles of mineral water. The drinks were brought immediatlely, but there was no sign of the food so we reminded the waiter after one hour. The food was excellent when it arrived, but the service did not improve. We ordered coffees and puddings. Coffiees were brought immediately, but they forgot us again and we had to ask for the sweets. When they were served they were very disappointing and we complained. Mineral water bottles cost £3.60 each and the bottle of plonk £18. This was a pub posing as a restaurant and I thought that was rather expensive. We were not charged for the sweets and the total bill for 8 main courses was £143. The whole lunch took 3 hours and most of that was waiting to be served.
The staff were friendly, but slow and forgetful. This is one of our regurlar meetings and the group decided not to go to Tally Ho again.

We have eaten at the Tally Ho on a number of occasions with family and friends. The first 3 times were great and really pleased with the food and service. The next 2 times were disappointing but they were very busy and felt very sorry for the 2 waitresses who seemed to have far too many tables to look after. Customers were complaining directly to them rather than the manageress which I thought was out of order. The next time we went was with a large family group and we couldn't fault it. Food is always great and generous portions which my boys love. Good traditional pub just need to make sure they have enough staff.
