“Honeymoon”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

We stayed in a 2 bedroom log cabin for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon and couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. It was off season but was perfect for us as we had a chance to chill out together after all the stress of planning and having a wedding and really relax. The main building was open with reception staff, a swimming pool and life guards and a bar / restaurant. There was also a spar shop that was open each day until 3pm which also had DVD rental available. The bar staff were all lovely and the food was really nice.

The log cabin and surrounding areas on the park is really pretty made even better with all the snow we had. The park is situated perfectly for day trips out too. we went to Bournemouth one of the days which was just a 20 minute - 30 minute drive. Southampton and Poole are also just as close. Lymington town centre is just a short drive away and has everything you would need to stock up for your stay.

We will definitely be returning at some point in the future but will try a stay in the summer this time and will maybe take a few friends and family. It would make a perfect family holiday or for a few friends.

Room Tip: The log cabins are fitted out really well with sofas, flat screen tv and dvd player. full kitchen in...

We stayed at shorefields as we wanted to visit pepper pig world and this was the closest park that we could find to it available from the sun £9.50 holidays. Obviously as we went via the sun our holiday was a bargain but I would also be happy to visit again paying full price. Our group ages were 50, 34, 30, 13 & 1. The park itself is clean & very pretty. One side of the park is caravans all very close together & the other side is lodges which we stayed in. These are lovely & spaced out so you don't hear other guests. They are also surrounded by green so you feel like you are in the new forest but right opposite up a little hill is also the sea. Swimming pool is great, small arcade and bar/ entertainment room. Evening entertainment not fab but with a 1yr old we didont stay past 10 but it had normally finished by then anyway. Park is a 30 minute drive to paultons theme park which is we're pepper pig world is. This was great for all ages as it also has lots of big rides etc aswel as pepper world for the young ones. You can buy discounted tickets from shorefields reception however be warned its still not a cheap day out but is worth it. would recommend taking a packed lunch to keep costs down. Overall we were pleasantly surprised by shorefields and really enjoyed our stay there and in the new forest.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Shorefield Country Park.

We are sorry to hear about your accommodation problems however, as the lodge you stayed in is a private unit; it is up to the owner of that unit to make sure the unit is clean and presentable for the guests that stay there.

We’d like to thank you for your feedback regarding the facilities such as the pool and arcade and will pass these comments onto the relevant departments.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Shorefield. From the moment i phoned reservations right through to the end of the holiday everything was perfect - we always take our dog away with us and my husband has mobility issues - the lady on the end of the phone was very helpful finding the perfect chalet with parking right outside and no steps in a lovely part of the park. The chalet was a bit dated and you could tell it was used as a pet one but these are only grade 1. The lady on reception was extremely friendly (Pauline i think her name was) and very helpful as were ALL the staff in the shop - they are a credit to the park. We had some good takeaways from the Cheers bar - the Veg Lasagne best i've ever had - all the staff in the bar were cheerful except 1 lady whom i only saw once. Can't wait to stay again.

Just returned after staying here for a week. Thought it was quite nice but would like to see a couple of improvements. Firstly we wanted to stay in or near the New Forest because the area is quite dog friendly and we were taking our dog. Now I understand that dogs are not allowed in the bar even if I don't agree, but to have an area outside where 'you are welcome to sit with your dog' and not have any patio heaters there just seems to me to hint that they do not really want people with dogs to holiday there. There are though lots of dog friendly pubs in the area where you are most welcome to sit inside by the fire if you so wish, some even supplied a doggy biscuit to Elwood. We did visit a couple of pubs it just meant they one of us had to stick to the soft drinks.
The other problem was the lack of lighting in the area we were in, we had caravan 295 Seabreeze which is right by the woodland walk, I loved this being a bird watcher but my goodness it was sooo dark. I would recommend this site to people as long as you don't mind sitting in your caravan if you holiday with your dog.
The New Forest is lovely, if you like walking then I can recommend a gentleman that will take you on an organised walk for a small fee, well worth it if you don't want to get lost, he even took me to see a Tawny Owl.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Shorefield Country Park.

We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the beautiful New Forest; it definitely is worth visiting for its vast array of wildlife and lovely walks which are ideal for dogs.

In regards to your comments regarding dogs we understand that more people than ever are bringing their pets on holiday with them. We’d like to assure you we do encourage holiday makers to being their dogs with them and we are sorry to hear that you felt this wasn’t the case.

We’d like to thank you for your suggestions and we will pass these on to the relevant departments.

I've just returned from a weeks break 17-24th November in one of their Dane Stream chalets.
Me and my family used to holiday at Shorefield from 1979 to the mid 1990's in the Dane Stream chalets and decided to stay again this year.
It was like a trip down memory lane it brought back happy memories from when i was a kid.
We enjoyed it so much that we have booked up again for next year and are looking forward to it already:-)

We have just spent October half term at the Chillout Retreat caravan, owned by Malcolm and Joyce. This was our fifth visit with them (plus we rented another caravan last year for the Grandparents, who also had a great time), and we have already booked for Easter and October 2013. Our children, aged 7 and 5, have been enjoying their caravan holidays since they were very little. Malcolm and Joyce always give us such a warm welcome, and the caravan always looks so luxurious, with the table laid, the lovely bedding (dressed with soft white towels and toiletries), plus some lovely touches like bread, pate, wine, milk, and the children love the sweets left on the pillows best of all. The caravan is very comfortable and warm, just like home from home, and the kitchen is fitted out with all the things you would need.
The site is well laid out, and is very quiet both during the day and at night. Every day we go to the lovely indoor swimming pool, which the children love, whereas my husband and I enjoy using the sauna, jacuzzi, and steam room, which are all on the edge of the pool area.
We are already looking forward to our next visit.
