We recently spent four nights at Harvest House and couldn't have asked for more. Our hosts Amanda and Jon were welcoming and provided us with all we needed. A wonderful breakfast, a lovely room and comfy bed and a super guest sitting room complete with a log fire. We were made to feel at home with so many little extras. The New Forest offers some beautiful walks and scenery, and to return to Harvest House after a day out made the holiday even more special. We hope to return to visit more in the area and of course to enjoy some more of Harvest House!

Room Tip: All rooms excellent and to the same high standard

We stayed at Harvest House last weekend, with old friends, for two nights. We agree with what everyone else has said, Amanda and Jon were very welcoming, with the rooms immaculate and attention to detail first class. We had asked in advance if there was somewhere for us to play bridge and sure enough we sat at a table in the conservatory with views across to the Solent. Aside from the amazing breakfast (the freshly squeezed orange juice, and especially the home made plum jam were delicious), their advice on where to eat locally was spot on, as were suggestions of where to walk, visit etc. We opted for their recommendation of the fish and chips from the local shop on Saturday night (so as not to waste valuable bridge playing time) and these were also superb, especially as we were given plates and cutlery by Jon. We would definitely go back to explore the area further, although I suspect we will need to book well in advance as they are very popular. Attic Suite definitely recommended, although I did look at all the other rooms on offer and they are all splendid!

Room Tip: The Attic Suite has lovely views across to the Solent, but all the rooms are delightful

This was our 4th year staying running the New Forest Marathon, and 3rd year in a row staying at Harvest House, and once again it did not dissappoint!!!
Amanda and John always make us feel at home. From the personal touches in the rooms (strawberrys in the afternoon, wine, biscuits, amazing coffee), to the amazing breakfasts, taylored to our running needs.

We cannot imagine staying anywhere else in the New Forest. Needless to say we have already booked our stay with them for next year!!

My partner and I stayed at Harvest House this September, accompanying two friends of ours who were competing in the New Forest Half Marathon. Our friends enter the race every year, and every year they stay at Harvest House - and I can see why.

The location was beautiful, the property itself was charming and cosy, and most of all Amanda and Jon were unfailingly friendly and welcoming. They created the kind of comfortable and relaxed atmosphere that was exactly what my partner and I would look for in a B&B. We were only there for the weekend but once there I wanted to stay longer.

We hope to run the half marathon ourselves next year, and if we do we know exactly where we'll be staying.

Last time we were in this part of the world (the New Forest), we stayed at Havenhurst House in Lymington, which we could not fault. We could not fault Harvest House, either. We usually prefer the relative anonymity of hotels, but the hosts here know exactly how much and - crucially! - how little to chat with their guests. The house and rooms (and cars!) are exquisite; the breakfasts plentiful and fresh. We'll certainly recommend this establishment to our friends, and would stay there again in a heartbeat!

We spent two nights at Harvest House on a last minute break, booked after reading the reviews in Trip Advisor. Amanda and Jon were really welcoming and made every effort to ensure our comfort. The Attic room is lovely (although if you're tall, you might find the ceiling a little low) with fantastic views. There's a bedroom, separate sitting room and a bathroom all to yourself at the top of the house reached via an internal staircase. All very clean and cosy. On a blustery night, the wind and rain outside made you feel very snug inside, and on a clear night, you could hear owls in the trees (not something we're used to in the city!). Teas, ground coffee, biscuits, wine, water all available in the room. In the downstairs guest's sitting room, there's a TV, sofas, and breakfast room. Breakfast was great (smoked trout highly recommended). And the two lovely dogs to keep you company.
We recommend Mr Pink's fish and chips - and Amanda kindly suggested we eat them in the breakfast room as it was a bit cold to eat them outside as we had planned. And The Raft was also worth a visit for the fish soup, but do book as it seems to get very busy.
We hope to come back!
