Ate there for lunch and evening dinner whilst staying at Twin Oaks B & B across the road. A very enjoyable experience

We went for a drink in this pub. It was a cold night but a log fire welcomed you as you walked in. Seating was comfortable and cosy but I think the pub would benefit from a refit. The door opened into the lounge directly from the street which brought a gust of cold wind everytime it was opened and the seating, though comfortable, had seen better days!. Can't comment on the restaurant as we didn't eat there but plenty of people were seated in the two eating areas and it was highly recommended to us by our Guest House.

My wife and I went for a late lunch today after a visit in the locality.

Saw this deal and we both had Calamari as a starter, my wife had Cottage Pie and I had Fag gots in gravy with mash potatoes and vegetables.

The starter was plentiful and filling as was the main course.

Service was friendly.

What a disappointment, lovely meal, lovely staff. Shame about the Manager. He directed us to our table in a not so friendly manner, then proceeded to dominate the bar area with raucous laughter with men who he obviously knew. This totally spoilt our meal out, will not be going there again. Tip of the day - change the Manager, reward the staff!!

We visited on Sunday 16th December for lunch and arrived early. This restaurant has a large capacity and we knew it would be busy. We were meeting my daughter, son-in law and granddaughter to deliver some presents. The table in the bar area allocated to us on booking was ideal. The service was exceptional and the food very nice. My daughter has booked to meet a friend this weekend and we will certainly recommend the venue. We remember visiting in the late 70's with my father and it was really good then - happy memories. A big thank you to the staff for their exceptional kindness. A very happy experience.
