“Anniversary weekend”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

We chose to stay at the Union Inn for our 29th wedding anniversary on 23rd March as it was within walking distance of the castle (a decent walk but very nice) and have had a fabulous time. We arrived early but was shown our room straight away as it was ready, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Enjoyed an excellent breakfast before embarking on a day exploring Windsor and the castle. Had a great day, arrived back very cold but enjoyed a lovely hot shower before going down to the bar for a drink and then enjoyed a lovely meal from a good choice of menu. We were advised that there was a large party in that night but everyone was very friendly and the magician who was brought in especially for the party (not usually our choice of entertainment at all) was excellent. Tessa and Dom make you feel very welcome and relaxed, a lovely down to earth couple. Thank you for making our weekend so special. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Room Tip: Room 2 was lovely, freshly decorated with ensuite and nice views over fields.

Stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights and apart from the good view from the bedroom there wasn't much else that was worth returning for. We arrived at the reception to be standing around for about 10 mins only to be told we should have come through the bar and they weren't expecting us, even though we stated what time we were arriving when we booked. Breakfast was not that good even though we were told "it would be the best breakfast we would ever eat".

23rd March 2013 Had a great stay here for my husbands 60th surprise party. Dom and Tess done us real proud, a lovely friendly couple. We had a lovely meal in the Restaurant and they even arranged a card magician which was a good treat. There were 21 of us,and not one complaint! I think we had the largest room which was very nice, but all the rooms were comfortable and spotless. Will definately be going back. Thanks Dom and Tess!!

Room Tip: Ask for spacious room.

We stayed at the Union Inn for 2 nights either side of a friends wedding at Great Fosters which is just £11 in a taxi away. The rate is extremely reasonable given lots of other options in the area which made me fear the worst but I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was compact but modern, clean with a big shower and comfortable bed. The only negative for a girl getting ready for a wedding was no mirror in our particular room, just in the bathroom which got steamed up post partners shower and had poor light for make-up... and the lack of power sockets in the bathroom (obviously!) made doing my hair difficult! The couple who ran the Inn were friendly and chatty and accomodating to our late return on the Thursday night. But the best part was ...the breakfast! honestly the nicest full English Ive had in a long time, it was lovely to fill up before a long day at a wedding...and even BETTER post alcohol the morning after. Absolutely delicious! Overall it was perfect for what we needed and we had a better experience and paid less than many other guests staying in the area for the wedding. Thank you!

Another perfect stay at the Union. If you are recharging clients for overnight stay, work late and just need to put your head down it's perfect. Really well priced, out of the main hustle and bustle, but nice beers (if you like nice beers), on open fire, oak beams and friendly staff.

It probably won't be the best hotel you have ever stayed in but for around £50 in the week, 5 minutes from Windor and 15 minutes from Mars Confectionary and Slough Trading Estate, you cannot go wrong.

Room Tip: Tell them you need a quieter room. I sleep soundly and quickly but it's and old building and th...

Stayed at the union inn last weekend, what a lovely place it was with great views across the countryside. Arrived and checked in and shown to our room within a few minutes.

Room was very clean and great value for what we paid, had a lovely evening meal downstairs in bar/restaurant. Extensive menu to choose from and great ale to go with it. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay very pleasant.

We slept very well in our room with no disruption at all and were not dissapointed with the great cooked breakfast we had. All in all a great place to stay and we will be back and recommend it to our friends and family.
