Stayed here 1 night following a Christmas party at a local hotel. The room had recently been refurbished and looked very smart, although the reception area and reception experience was disappointing. Unfortunately I had a terrible stay as the windows did not close properly (and it was minus 5 degrees that night!!), the blinds didn't shut properly and there was no heating. Furthermore no additional blankets were provided so I ended up sleeping with all my clothes and pyjamas on, plus my coat and the towels on the bed to stay warm. In the morning I was woken by light streaming through the window at 5am, then the shower did not work and there was no one on site bar the chef to talk to to get them fixed, and finally there was no hairdryer - luckily I had my own otherwise I would have had a very cold walk out to the car. I hope for their sake these things have been resolved as I would not go back now and would not recommend it to colleagues or friends.

We booked for a two night stay for Ascot Ideal for this inn is just outside Ascot and Windsor. Rooms clean and the morning English breakfast big and well cooked. Nothing is too much trouble for Dom and Tess the owners who make you very welcome, you feel like you known them years. Taxis were ordered for us the night before Ascot which really took the hassle out of getting there.
Has a great stay will be back to stay there again.

We booked a two night stay at the Union inn to meet up with friends we had met on previous holidays to Kenya, also to visit the sights of Windsor and London, our stay was 8/9th June.
Our choice to stay at the Inn was our friends lived about ten miles from Windsor.
The Inn is in old Windsor about two miles from Windsor castle, which for us was perfect the Inn is situated in a peaceful setting overlooking open countryside, on arrival the Inn looked fantastic Ratten furniture was set out to the front, the sun shinning and the birds singing, so peaceful.
After a 3 hour drive from Cardiff we were welcomed by Dom and Tessa, and we took advantage of their local knowledge before being shown the bar and restaurant, and onto our room by Tessa, the bar and restaurant looked very inviting, and the room was spotless with good shower and toiletries, TV, and tea and coffee facilities, the bed was so comfortable, from our window was a view of open countryside, the rest of the day we spent exploring Windsor castle, and the excellent shopping, on our return we decided to refresh ourselves with a glass of wine and a few beers for me, both being reasonably priced and good quality, the atmosphere in the bar was excellent with fantastic local people who made us feel so welcome, after a refreshing power shower we decided to eat in, the fish meal was superb and reasonably priced, after more advice from Dom and Tessa planning our next day to London we retired to a fantastic good night night sleep in a very comfortable bed.
Next day we followed Dom and Tessa's travel advice which was, drive to Hatton Cross station ten minutes drive, parked the car which was only £4 per day on Sat/Sun, purchased an all day tube ticket £8.50 each, what a day out for £21 for two in London, we did the same the following day, thank you so much Dom and Tessa.
On both mornings of our stay we were greeted with what I can only describe as the most fantastic cooked to order full English breakfast I have ever had, my wife does not eat meat and an alternative was offered by Dom but she enjoyed the fresh juice cereal and every thing bar meat on the cooked breakfast, the second evening we met up with our good friends and the four of us had a brilliant evening catching up and enjoying excellent food and wine.
One other place is well worth a visit from the Inn as it is so close is the Air Forces Memorial dedicated to those who lost their lives without trace. a beautifully kept memorial with fantastic views over the Thames valley.
Having chosen the Union Inn only because of its location to visit friends and the sights of London, I have since read some of the previous reviews, whilst most of them very good I was amazed at some of the negative reviews, we all have our different opinions and I fully respect others views, the Union Inn is run by Genuine people who will assist in any way they can to please, the hospitality shown to us by all the staff was excellent, thank you so much Dom and Tessa, James, bar staff, chef, and all the locals, not to forget adorable Alf the pet dog so charming and well mannered.

See you all soon
Chris&Carole

Room Tip: Our room was room 7 to the front overlooking open country side, very little road noise.

We booked a night at the Union inn as a mini break, on the website the place looked lovely, very welcoming and nicely decorated, on arrival we were not disappointed...... we arrived about lunch time Saturday so we could make the most of the 2 days we had there and they were kind enough to let us check in early which seemed to be no problem for the staff who were very welcoming and more than to help. Nothing seemed too much trouble.
We dropped off our bags had a quick change and headed out for a spot of lunch in Winsor which was a short ish walk from the Union depending on whom you take instructions from .
The room was bright clean and nicely decorated, the en suite seemed to have recently been refurbished to a very high standard. A plentiful supply of hot water and clean fresh towels were available and the little bottles of shampoo and shower gel were a nice touch.
We decided to have dinner at the Union that evening after a few drinks at the bar and we were glad we did, both mine and my partners food choices were spot on and I would fully recommend the menu which had a wide choice of fresh dishes available. The deserts by the way are to die for and a must have if your eating there, hats off to the chef.
Breakfast again was lovely and cooked fresh to order and great value. Will defiantly be going back here again, thanks for a great night guys
