I found this on the internet, and booked it solely because of its proximity to Portrait House where we were attending a wedding reception. We wanted to be able to walk there and back, having been warned there is little parking around the venue.

What a find! Fresh milk in a fridge on the landing instead of the usual UHT cartons. Fresh fruit salad at breakfast, large bowls of cereals, plenty of yoghurt, a menu for the cooked breakfast. Small touches which make a visit so memorable.

There's a small park over the road, with the sea beyond. There was an internation sand buggy event which we stood and watched, though there's plenty of seating along the front.

The proprietors, Susan and Peter, were welcoming and friendly. The cost is very reasonable for the level of service. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Stayed 3 night in late July, early August 2011, while on a golfing journey thru England and Wales. Our hosts were most gracious during our 3 night stay. Room number 2 had a double bed and was nicely furnished with a flat screen TV and desk. Also had a very nice chair which was good. Very adequate closet space that I did not need. Bathroom was modern and updated. Good shower! Bottom line is that the room was extremely comfortable for 1. The made to order English breakfasts were great. Good coffee also. Entire facility had wi-fi.
Peter and Susan are very kind people and I am sure they should be very proud of the Pendragron House B&B. A comfortable stay with kind people. Well done and thanks!

We spent four nights over Christmas at this excellent B&B. We were using the B&B as a base for visiting family. The room was large, very comfortable, beautifully decorated and extemely well-equipped (tea, coffee, biscuits, sweets and even a cork screw and wine glasses!). Fresh milk was provided in a fridge on the landing. The owners, Peter and Sue, made us most welcome and even gave us a Christmas present! The breakfast was lovely and there was lots of choice of both hot and cold food. The whole experience was very much better than that we have had in many hotels which have cost at least twice as much!

It is difficult to add much more than what has already been said by others. I would recommend this Guest House without hesitation and it well deserves its rating. It has those little touches that are sadly lacking in many other places. Everything oozed quality.

The extensive breakfast menu. included a help-yourself fresh fruit salad with strawberries, blueberries, melon , orange, pomegranate, grapes, that would have done a high class restaurant proud and there were even fresh flowers on the table.

We stayed 2 nights and had travelled from Norfolk to attend a funeral nearby. We discovered the Pendragon on the internet, read the reviews here and they are spot on. If we came back to the Wirral I would look no further.

The Pendragon also appears to have a good reputation from comments made by local people like "You will not go far wrong there" when we were asked where we were staying.

If you want to stay on the Wirral you would be hard pushed to find anywhere better.

We stayed for one night, and would recommend this place to everybody. Room 4 was large and spotless with a new ensuite with a large shower. The owners were very welcoming and could not do enough for us. Breakfast was professionally catered for and an extensive selection was on offer, with made-to-order cooked breakfast too. We could not have asked for anything to improve our stay at Pendragon House.

I used this B&B as a stopover before catching the Isle of Man Ferry from nearby Liverpool. I booked it after reading favourable reviews on this site. None of these reviews was wrong - the place is a Gem. Very Clean - very friendly - very spacious rooms with every detail attended to. You can book this place with confidence!

I actually found this wonderful B&B by accident. I booked tickets for LIverpool FC and as there was a Queen concert the same night found in near on impossible to book a hotel room for the Saturday night. Decided to try the Wirral, and was given Pendragons number by another B&B who were fully booked. What fantastic luck for us, this B&B is wonderful, beautiful property, peaceful location and immaculately clean, and Peter and Sue are so friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is delicious! we were very spoilt with all the usual items for a cooked breakfast PLUS smoked salmon on the scrambled eggs!
The train station is a few minutes walk away and a 25 minute easy, cheap journey into Liverpool, perfect for us as we could leave the car safely parked in the drive of the B&B and not have to worry about parking or driving in Liverpool City centre.
Hoylake itself has plenty of nice bars and cafe's but in a nice peaceful location.
We will definately be returning, we loved Liverpool, friendly people, vibrant, clean city and the Best Football Team in the World!
