I recently had a trip to Harrogate and did the Betty's Tea Rooms experience. It was lovely but I must say it doesn't compare to Emmas. The quality of food in Emmas simply can't be beaten. Whether it's a quick coffee & sconne or the full hit lunch the standard is excellent. Don't expect a Costa Coffee environment, their minimalist lines don't belong here. Instead you have a most welcoming, cosy, traditional home from home feel. Cookery books line one of the walls, magazines are at hand to flick through if you're on your own and there is always the option of purchasing some beautiful gifts - chutneys, special blend coffee, cards and a selection of Emma Ball must haves. It really is the perfect place to stop.

Have been lots of times to Emmas. Staff are very friendly and accomodating. Great home cooked food, generous portions and good value. Very nice ambience. Lovely cards and gifts. Set in a very picturesque part of Lower Heswall with great walks through churchyard onto Wirral Way.

Just found this quaint teashop in Lower Heswall, absolutely blown away, thought this quality of home made food and friendliness had long disappeared. Charming staff full of smiles and lovely food full of taste. Been there a long time wish I had found it sooner.

Have been going to Emma's for a long time and have never been disappointed. Excellent selelction of home cooked food with nothing being too much trouble for the staff. Well worth a visit but watch you will get hooked like the rest of us. Outside catering is also fantastic whether you want something for your dinner that night, are planning a dinner party or buffet take a look at what is available. - you will be surpised it brings entertaining to a different level.
