“First wedding anniversary”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

spent our 1st anniversary at Ringwood Hall where we were married , we had dinner, bed and breakfast and stayed in the Barlborough suite. We had an absolutely fantastic night and we would like to thank all the fantastic staff at Ringwood hall and a special thanks again to Lyndon who was our MC at our wedding . If you are planning a wedding I would advise you to contact Rona Cosh as you will be given the 5 star treatment by herself and the staff at Ringwood. We look forward to spending many more of our anniversaries here.

It was a pleasure to welcome you back on the occasion of your first wedding anniversary and delighted that you had such a wonderful return stay in the Barlborough Suite.

It`s really hard to believe that a year has passed by since your wedding celebrations and it was great to see you looking happy and relaxed on your return.

It is always our pleasure to provide service and support to couples planning their weddings and we really appreciate that you consider the treatment that you received to have been 5 star. Lyndon and his team thank you for your kind words and look forward to welcoming you back to Ringwood on lots of future occasions, not least your second wedding anniversary.

We held our wedding reception at Ringwood earlier this month and we couldn't recommend the place enough. Gorgeous surroundings in regards to the award winning grounds and the Ringwood Suite itself was large enough to accomodate without losing that intimate atmosphere. From the moment we met with Rona Cosh, the manager to discuss initial requirements we were confident that we had made the right choice of reception venue. Our bespoke package enabled us to "do what we wanted" within our budget which was important to us. The staff are 100% committed, they cannot do enough for you and whenever we came for meetings in the run up, we liked the fact that all staff acknowledged you in the corridors etc, Dan our MC did a great job on the big dsy which meant we could get on with enjoying outselves! Keep up the good work, Ringwood!

Thank you for your absolutely wonderful review and your recommendations.

It was my absolute pleasure to have been able to assist you with all of your plans leading up to the big day. We recognise that client`s requirements are all very different and very special, and therefore it gives us pleasure to be able to provide personal attention and to tailor our exclusive packages to couples specific requirements and budgets. Your selection of a Thursday for your wedding celebrations provided opportunities for an even more bespoke plan for the day, and I was delighted to read just how much you had enjoyed these plans coming together.

As I have said in previous responses I am blessed with the team at Ringwood, all of whom are entirely committed to their roles and who generally enjoy providing attentive and professional service.

With such a wonderful setting that we have at Ringwood, we really do have the perfect wedding venue and it`s extremely good of you to confirm this.

On behalf of the team, most particularly Dan, we would like to thank you for your lovely review and wish you the very best of life together. We look forward to seeing you on your first anniversary return which I believe has now been reserved.

We recently celebrated our Daughters wedding at Ringwood Hall. We cannot praise everyone concerned in the planning right through to the day itself enough. Our coordinator Mandy was brilliant and dealt with all the questions we kept firing at her (which we are sure she had heard all before!,) we were made to feel very special from start to finish. On the day itself we were looked after by John and his team who were absolutely fantastic. Everything was perfect and again we were made to feel very special. A lot of family and friends stayed overnight in various rooms and everyone has commented on how comfortable their rooms were followed by a delicious breakfast the morning after. Lots of family and friend used the swimming pool and walked through the gorgeous grounds the morning after the wedding which was a lovely calm ending to a fantastic weekend. The food was delicious and the Ringwood room was magical. Melvyn from Strides (chesterfield) did our Tables and Chair covers and the candleabbra were decorated with beautiful flowers which took our breath away.... Thank you Thankyou Thankyou for making our Daughters Wedding day a day we will all remember forever. We will certainly recommend Ringwood Hall to anyone thinking of holding their wedding here. A wonderful review thank you. We are extremely grateful that you have taken the time and trouble to leave this review on Trip Advisor.

Delighted that you had such a fabulous time and that your recommendation of Ringwood is so high.

With 74 en-suite bedrooms all appointed to a very high specification, we encourage wedding parties to stay over to enjoy the lovely facilities that we have here, not least our fabulous extensive gardens.

In order to facilitate early check-ins and reduce any rushing on the day, we do offer the same reduced rate the night prior, and many wedding guests take the opportunity of making a two night break as a result. Some even stay a third night as they are not keen to rush off.

The wedding team from the co-ordinators through to the Masters of Ceremonies are all experienced, professional and caring individuals and I was delighted to hear that Mandy and John provided you with excellent service up to and including the big day itself.

Very pleasing to read that you were able to use our extensive Health & Fitness facilities and that this provided you with an opportunity to relax and wind down after the big day itself.

We hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you and family members back to the hotel on future occasions, and the team at Ringwood would like to congratulate you both and wish you a long, happy and healthy married life together.

We choose Ringwood Hall for our wedding and are so glad we did as we could not have chosen a more perfect place. From the moment I arrived with my family the night before the staff were amazing. They looked after everyone so well on the Friday night for our family function. The rooms are all fantastic, everyone was so pleased. Our wedding was on the saturday and I want to give Tracey a special thank you as she was brillient from start to finish. The whole day ran so smoothly, despite the rubish weather. The staff could not have done more to make our wedding any better. Would reccomend Ringwood Hall to anyone thinking about choosing it for there wedding, you will not be dissapointed. I will definately be going back to stay again!

Room Tip: All the rooms are fantastic!

Wow, what a wonderful review thank you. Delighted that you recommend us so highly following your marriage and wedding celebrations at Ringwood.

As I have suggested previously, we always recommend that the bride and her girls stay the night prior to settle in to be pampered the day before the wedding. On some occasions, as you choose, we are delighted to provide the family with a private dining room to allow for family and friends to gather and mingle together the night before the wedding and enjoy an informal meal as all the excitement builds for the big day.

It was disappointing that the weather on your special day was changeable although it certainly did not give any cause for concern. All the photographs took place in the garden and the Summer Garden Marquee supervised by Tracy and her team, once again provided the perfect location for wedding celebrations.

We look forward to having the opportunity of welcoming you back and, do not forget, call the wedding team to access the special first anniversary return wedding rates.

On behalf of Tracy and all the wedding team at Ringwood, we would like to take this opportunity of wishing you a wonderful first year of marriage.

Great looking hotel, beautifully kept gardens. We stayed two nights and an ideal location for touring Derbyshire. About 30 mins to Chatsworth. Matlock, Bakewell etc.
The hotel is large and goes of in all directions. We had a room at the far end of the hotel, which was a bit of a trek to get to. Room and bathroom excellent. Good size and very clean.
Staff very efficient and friendly and helpful. Food excellent.
Wedding going on whilst we were there, but didnt interfere with this and no noise apparent at night. Only thing that changed was we had to eat upstairs in one of the smaller dining rooms instead of the main restaurant. This was not a problem as the room was beautiful and overlooked the gardens. Would definitely recommend, if you dont mind walking a fair distance to your room, does involve also stairs.

the only downside was a number of guests obviously business men or reps, using laptops and mobiles in the restaurant, kind of took the edge off a bit. However, understand hotels have to cater for all.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to leave this lovely review.

Delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and completely agree that our location is absolutely ideal for touring Derbyshire as I have outlined in my response to the previous review.

We do enjoy the benefit of wonderful gardens which are looked after by our team of six gardeners, headed by Derek who is not only endeavouring to maintain the gardens but also continues to open up new garden areas as we progress with the restoration of the historic garden. Hard to believe that 14 years ago immediately pre current ownership the gardens were in a state of complete dereliction. As an old Georgian Manor House and therefore not purpose built as a hotel, the corridors do ramble off in all sorts of directions with changes of elevation, and a trip to one of the more remote rooms can take a while. However, luggage assistance is always available and some of our more remote hotel bedrooms situated in a courtyard adjacent to the Health & Fitness Club are preferably accessed by car with parking directly outside. Always to have the conversation with reception on booking to make sure the location of the room suits your needs and requirements suitable for the purpose of your visit.

The Coach House dining room is often specially requested by clients for their wedding celebrations as it`s such a beautiful suite and enjoys the benefit of private facilities. Our second restaurant is the Hollingwood Suite which as you say overlooks the gardens and parkland. Serviced by the same staff and with the same menu, it is our second restaurant and on Saturday nights we enjoy the wonderful music provided by James our resident guitarist.

Laptops and mobile phones are endemic everywhere I`m afraid...........part of modern communication. At the very least it does prove that our wireless broadband signals are strong!

Overall I have to agree Ringwood Hall is a very special place for lots of reasons, not least it`s setting and it`s staff, and I would entirely agree with your overall observation that we are "quirky but nice".

My family and I stayed for 2 nights in Apartment 402 from Sunday to Tues this week. Pamela couldnt do enough for me when I booked the stay and was amazingly helpful with sorting everything out and getting me a fab DBB price. The apartment was ideal for a young family and we made full use of the restaurant for Breakfast and Dinner. The staff were so helpful with my 2 little Boys and were very attentive. The food and wine were also very good and reasonably priced for the extras we paid for. I would recommend this hotel to annyway heading to Derbyshire, and Matock and the heights of Abraham are a must for sightseeing! Thank you for a lovely stay we will be back!

Wonderful review thank you.

Our Devonshire Apartments, situated in a private courtyard with adjacent parking are the perfect choice for a family break in the Peak District.

Enjoying the benefits of private en-suite facilities with a fully fitted kitchen, clients can choose between a room only rate or indeed breakfast and if required dinner inclusive rate. Some are entirely happy, particularly with young children, to opt for the self catering route. With three large supermarkets and every fast food imaginable within a 4 mile radius, it could not be easier.

Chesterfield sits on the gateway to the Peak District and therefore a whole host of attractions, particularly those most suitable for children as you mentioned, are within easy access.

For those seeking a more cultural Peak District Break, historic houses, castles and gardens are within striking distance.

Delighted that you had such a wonderful time and that yet again helpful attentive staff get a special mention, and we hope to welcome you to a return visit in the not too distant future.

Stayed as a guest of a wedding. The hotel were great with our requests for early check and the whole party was allocated rooms straight away. They had done a great job of setting the rooms up and were very quick to turnaround the rooms for the various stages of the day. The food was very good and the bar prices were value for money with a bottle of cava for £21. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Rooms were very clean and it looked like they were in the process of renovating the rooms as some they all seemed to be different. Its such a shame i didnt get a chance to have a walk of the grounds as they looked stunning.

Although my one complaint was when i booked the hotel it was at a cost of £96 and nothing was mentioned about any offers they had on at the time, However when i looked online should you stay on a friday night or a sunday night staying for a extra night would be a total of £99 for the two nights, should you stay thurs/fri & sun/mon. Being there the night before would of been less hassle the day of the wedding for guests travelling some distance.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the gardens

Thank you for taking the trouble to leave this lovely review.

Delighted that you enjoyed your stay and found all the facilities to be entirely to your satisfaction. Particularly reassuring to read your comment that you considered everything to be good value for money. Value and affordability are key words and it is pleasing to have this confirmed at Ringwood.

Sorry if the accommodation offers were not as clear as they could be. The wedding team are always keen to discuss special rates for guests staying with wedding parties with their couples, and ensure that they are aware that the special rate is available for the night prior to the wedding - or indeed the night after also. At certain times of the year we do offer special rates generally on our website, but these are rarely better value than the special accommodation rates we automatically give to our wedding couples.

It is excellent advice to future clients to check out the website for special offers and to book direct with reception rather more than online to ensure personal service and maximum value.
