We visited mid week and the restaurant was busy which is a good sign. The decor is very nice, but it was quite cold inside, so after mentioning this they brought over a plug in heater.
We started with the suda thai platter, which looked un-inspiring. We ate most of it, but left the two big lumps of bone (supposed to be spare ribs, I think). The main courses arrived on small side plates, with the sauces spilling over the edges. The chicken with pineapple tasted good, but the portion was incredibly small (nearly £8). The Thai curry was also good, but the noodles and rice luke warm. The last meal a sweet and sour chicken, was simply chicken n veg covered in Heinz tomato sauce, which was uneaten. When the waitress cleared the plates and asked if everything was ok, we pointed out the above, and she said "did nobody ask if everything was ok earlier" ? It was left at that, and we received a bill for the full amount including the uneaten sweet and sour chicken. Dont think will be rushing back ...

Dear Carolone12349, I have just been reading through our old Tripadvisor reviews and was obviously disappointed to read yours. I can appreciate your comments as we previously did not have the levels of service within our restaurant where they should have been. We have since invested heavily in staff training and feel that this is reflected in Suda Thai rising from 30th in the TripAdvisor Ratings up to our current 6th spot. We may not currently attain top spot but can claim to be Poultons most recently improved restaurant. Since we commenced implementing these changes around eighteen months ago we have seen custom increase considerably and are proud of our achievements. We now have a highly valued front of house team containing experienced and knowledgeable members. In view of this we would genuinely welcome the opportunity to demonstrate our improved service levels whilst addressing your previous visit which did not live up to expectations. Please would you be kind enough to leave your telephone number at Suda Thai in order for me to contact you. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Owner.

Not wishing to drive far we decided to try the Suda which we pass quite frequently. We enjoy Thai food and our ususal establishment has had owner illness so have not been for a while. The restautant appears to have a good reputation, and was inviting on our arrival but could have been a little warmer.

A number of people were eating, and staff were very pleasant with a nice deor, and it was very clean. All started well with my coconut and chicken soup which was tasty but lacking spice. My wife had seafood soup which she said was Ok. We orderd sliced duck, noodles, rice and a Muslim beef curry and mixed vegetables.
The food arrived on small plates and could have been hotter, my curry in a bowl. For over £7.00 per portion the mixed vegatables were not good value, and agin were lukewarm. The problem was mainly with my curry.

To be fair to the staff the attemted to rectify my concerns immediately, which was Ok, but the issue was that the curry was neither very spicy and was far too salty, in fact I was unable to eat it.

They replaced the curry which was marginaly better and I mainly ate the meat which was not too tasty and the few potatoes in it, leaving the still rather salty sauce. Unfortunately I cannot see in any way how this is 'authentic' Thai food, its far too balnd, but that said it is personal taste, and we do eat a lot of Thai food. We finished what we could, paid the bill and left.

We shall not return I think. Fo the prices charged we were not impressed with the food. Presentastion and friendliness were Ok, but we have had much better Thai food than this.

Finding somewhere new to eat these days gets trickier all the time, so Suda Thai extending their premises has come at the right time.

Our party ordered several dishes to share from the menu and the food was perfect.
Service was excellent and we didn't feel rushed or pressured into ordering extras.
