I went to Rico's on my mum's birthday and I and my friend ordered spaghetti and it tasted horrible. I will never go again .

We've never had a bad experience at Rico's in Poulton le Fylde. Always busy any night of the week which itself is a great advertisement. Although not what you'd call traditional Italian surroundings, the food and staff most definitely are. The staff's attitude is exceptional with a brilliant balance of customer attendance and having fun themselves. Although kitchen is relatively small, the service is spot on and the food quality absolutely amazing. Birthdays are celebrated in traditional Italian style, noisy and involving. Great value and a regular of ours.

A group of 4 arranged and booked a table at Rico's for a Saturday night get together. On arrival the place was heaving, everyone waiting on their tables were congregating around the bar-there was no room to stand at ease which created a tense atmosphere. One of the group was knocked into by a waiter and had her jacket splashed with left over lasagne from a flying spoon! (This was swiftly wiped off by a seemingly very stressed waiter and recognised at the end by us all getting a free drink.)
We waited a good 10 minutes to get seen at the bar where we were told to book in. Mentioning to the barman that we had a table booked he referred to his note pad then started to shout in Italian-this is when you know there is a problem! A further 10 minutes later we were told no table had been booked and that we were on the 'list' and it could take up to half an hour before we'd get seated. (Our table had been booked for 7.30pm, our further half an hour wait started at 7.50pm.) Others at the bar were being told there would be a very long wait- over an hour!
When eventually seated, at 8.15pm we were, near as, sat on top of the kitchen where there was constant noise from plates clashing, knives and forks being dropped and Italians losing the plot.
We referred to the menus which are a low cost leaflet type containing a small selection of dishes at quite a price. A couple had an idea of what they fancied but were disappointed to find it unavailable / not even listed. A further wait followed for a waiter to come and take our orders. Eventually our food was ordered and I have to say it did arrive promptly soon after. The food itself was okay though lasagne and pizza isn't Italian rocket science. The seafood risotto could of done with seeing more seafood.
On reflection Rico's seems to run for bums on seats and cash in the tills, not customer satisfaction. The waiters did not show any interest in our meals / needs as they were too busy running around / making noise at any given opportunity. (For birthday celebrations all hell lets lose!)
Leaving the restaurant our voices were hoarse through having to speak so loud to be able to hear.
This is a well known restaurant and one I felt had high standards. I now know differently and will not be in a rush to return on a weekend if ever again.

The food is excellent, and the owner and staff are cheerful, efficient and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. The service is very good even at the busiest times, and there is no pressure for customers to rush their meals and vacate the table.

Went as a group Friday night and whilst we could not put our finger on anything that was overtly poor the experience was a little underwhelming. I had the spicy italian sausages as a starter which were neither spicy nor italian and a pizza for main which was okay but rather doughey and certainly not the authentic thin crispy kind I have had in better places. We did feel a little rushed too as though they wanted to free up the table as the courses came in quick succession. On the plus it was cheap and I suppose you get what you pay for ......
