This year we have been lucky enough to visit a few supposedly 5 star establishments. Augill Castle was more 2 star, Monte Da Quinta suites was good with a few issues whilst Ribby Hall Spa was 5 star all the way. What a breath of fresh air to find somewhere that actually knows what 5 star means and deliverers in every area. Every member of staff we came into contact with was exceptional.
The room we stayed in was beautiful and luxurious in every way. The spa itself is modern, clean and well equipped. We asked to have our evening meal down on the main site at "The Restaurant" where we found the staff and food very good indeed, we have eaten in the hotel restaurant before and found the food a little over the top for us.
Only slight downside was that we noticed the breakfast in the morning seemed to have shrunk since our last visit, please don't go down that route Ribby Hall, people are paying good money and do expect a decent breakfast not one spoonful of beans and certain items cut in half, people do notice these things.

I booked a two night package with my friend. This is one of the nicest Spas I've been too. Staff on reception very friendly, advised use we could use the aqua thermal journey everyday, on our first night we went in about 6pm, it was lovely, clean and relaxing, Elemis products in the showers. We had a very breakfast, attention to detail is great lots of nice little touches, all staff very friendly. We couldn't eat in the Brasserie on the first night as it was full so we went out as the other places in Ribby Hall were booked. However the second night we had our 2 course meal included in the package it was delicious, then drinks in the bar. I highly recommend this hotel, the bedroom was superb, twin room, shower and bath, complimentary water and fresh milk. You won't be disappointed if you book in. However I think you need to stay for 2 nights to fully appreciate it

Turning into Ribby Village I wasn't sure what to expect but the closer I got to the hotel the more impressive the place became. Receptionist very polite and welcoming. Rooms superb. Breakfast was amazing. It was a delightful experience with so much choice but the pancakes with bacon and syrup were delicious. The rest of breakfast from the buffet was mouth watering - fresh fruit, smoothies, muffins but all with a twist. You'll have to visit to appreciate the breakfasts. Well worth a visit to chill out.

I booked this spa break for a 'get away from it all' couple of nights. Really looking forward to it after viewing the details on the website. The virtual tour looked spectacular and I knew I'd booked a treat !!

I arrived at the hotel after a 2 hour journey and I was slightly disappointed that I had to drive through a Butlins style entrance and over quite a few speed humps to the spa hotel which I could see in the distance. Anyway, there was plenty of parking available on site which is complimentary and check in was very smooth. I stayed in one a one-bedroomed suite which was fabulous. No sooner had I checked in I made my way down to the spa already dressed in my swimwear and robe/slippers supplied in the room. Now having already viewed the spa on line and in view of the fact that it has been open for over 12 months I was disappointed to see that this was an inaccurate reflection of only some parts of the spa itself. Nevertheless, it was very relaxing but felt it could have been a bit bigger which was what I was expecting.

I had breakfast in my room the following morning, at an extra charge (some reviews say it is FREE but there is a charge). I then spent the rest of the day in the spa and had afternoon tea which was delicious.

The evening meal that night was out of this world. There were a few reviews which said there wasn't enough to eat but I can only assume these people had VERY large appetites !!!

Breakfast the following morning I took in the restaurant which, again, was delicious and more than enough choice.

Overall, I would recommend this spa but wish the hotel would update the virtual tour now that they have been open for 12 months.

Room Tip: One bedroomed suites with a balcony are lovely.

Stayed here on a two night spa package which included the aqua thermal journey, two treatments, bed and breakfast, one evening dinner and a spa lunch and have to say the whole experience was luxury from beginning to end.
The hotel is set at the top of the Ribby Hall Village complex which in itself is an upmarket complex of bungalows, motel, restaurant, teashop and sports facilities including an adult only swimming pool, fun pool with flume, golf course, miniature golf, boating lake and equestrian centre, all available for use by those staying at the Spa Hotel...if you have the time!
The hotel is adult only, a welcome cocoon for those of us surrounded by children in our day job! As soon as you enter the calm atmosphere is apparent. All staff are helpful and attentive, to the point that I actually felt some of the waiting staff tried too hard!
The bedroom was very clean and well equipped with everything you needed including a fridge with fresh milk and bottled water, robes and mules. The bed was comfortable with high quality bedding. The bathroom included a shower cubicle and a deep spa bath, fluffy towels and toiletries.
You could start using the spa facilities as soon as you had checked in and after check out on the last day so in all we completed the aqua journey 4 times during our stay. Staff in the spa area give a guided tour of the facilities the first time you use the area which include excellent changing facilities, lockers, changing cubicles, hairdryers, showers with toiletries and a spinner for wet swimwear.
The spa itself consists of a series of steam rooms with different herbal and salt infusions, an indoor and outdoor sauna, outdoor hot tub, a pedicarium, small pool with jets and bubbles, a lounger area including some heated ones and a zen garden which was surprisingly sheltered to relax in wearing swimwear even in October. Do not miss the upstairs relaxation rooms, one darkened and the other with picture windows with views over the surrounding countryside.
The therapists and treatments were also top notch and the whole spa area isis spotless and well maintained.
Food was nouvelle cuisine style, beautifully presented with some unusual dishes and combinations. We also partook of afternoon tea on both days which comes on a three tier cake stand, dainty sandwiches at the bottom, cakes in the middle and scones with home made jam and clotted cream on the top. We had breakfast delivered to our room, there was an excellent choice of the usual cereals, yoghurt, fruit, full English or continental croissants/pastries and also items such as smoked salmon bagels and maple syrup pancakes with bacon.
All in all a stay here does what it sets out to do, totally relaxes you and eases away the strains of everyday life!
Just a few minor observations that could be addressed to keep the experience absolutely the finest,
1. The spa was very crowded on the Sunday afternoon when we arrived, it was impossible to get into some of the steam/sauna rooms at all and those we did you were squashed in like sardines so not that pleasant, unable to get a turn in the hot tub, pedicarium or on a lounger at all so I was a little disillusioned but this was rectified on the Monday and Tuesday when numbers were much more manageable and the whole experience relaxed as it should be. Numbers of day visitors need to be restricted more at the weekends to overcome this. The £27 entrance fee for a day pass is amazing value for the venue-it is the same price as the Thermae Spa in Bath for just 2 hours for a far more exclusive and less crowded experience.
2. Poly bags should be provided by the spinners for wet costumes as happens in most other spas I have been to.
3. The continuous piped music everywhere began to grate,it spoilt my time out in the Zen Garden in particular. I enjoyed the outside hot tub and outdoor sauna, the only places where there is no music, though did find too late we could switch it off in the upstairs relaxation rooms,The restaurant, bar and reception areas also have continuous music so the only escape is your bedroom! Perhaps it needs to be realised that not everyone wants the continuous assault on their ears!
4. Despite turning the card on our bedroom to say please service the room, we came back over three hours later to find it had not yet been done, and although it was seen to during the afternoon it was depressing to return to an unkempt room after a morning's activities
5. There was piles of dirty laundry in the corridors for much of the day, realise they are busy with change overs but this should be an invisible operation
We have enjoyed cruises on Cunard line for which the daily price is pretty much the same as the hotel charges and points 4 and 5 would just never happen on board, we have always been intrigued as to how they manage to know when you are in and out of the cabin as everything just happens invisibly as if by magic and I felt that the same should apply here with the quality product you are delivering.

Whilst we were concerned that the hotel might not be our usual four star quality due to its location, we were very pleased from the moment we arrived until we departed having taken in the optional spa experience. Being able to take advantage of the spa from arrival until departure was great.
Bedroom excellent, evening meal first class and a beautiful breakfast selection with cooked breakfast to your requirements. We will certainly return.

We arrived at Ribby Spa Hotel and first impressions were great. Upon entering the spa reception we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff, given our locker keys and escorted into the changing rooms to be briefed on the day's activities. Lovely clean changing rooms with spacious lockers stuffed with fluffy towels, robes and slippers....great! Off we went to begin our hydro-thermal journey, the whole spa environment was excellent, lovely pool with alternating bubbles and water jets, lovely hot beds to lie on, plenty of steam and sauna rooms and a really lovely outdoor jacuzzi with lovely views. After a couple of hours spent in the spa we went to the brasserie for lunch which was lovely, the staff all knew exactly what they were doing and were very attentive. After lunch we had some treatments, the therapists were all very friendly and professional. After another hour or so spent in the spa we decided to check in and go to our room to prepare for the evening meal. We had booked a room for 3 people and this consisted of a room with two twin beds and a double room with seperate lounge area, really good sized and with every convinience you could reasonably expect. The bathroom had a bath AND seperate shower which was a nice surprise. We had been booked into the brasserie at 8pm but after a hard day's lounging around we were all quite tired and decided to see if they could move our table forward, reception were very helpful and managed to get us in for 6.30pm instead. After another fantastic meal we retired to our super comfy beds and had a fantastic night's sleep. All in all we had a fantastic experience and for the price we paid could not believe the service we recieved. We would definately recommend Ribby Hall Spa Hotel and cant wait to visit again! Perfect
