Only one night at this hotel. It was very busy with bus tours, etc. and the staff coped with it all cheerfully. Well done staff!
Booked via a Travelzoo offer and it was a bargain, not sure if I would have chosen here if full price. Hotel close to Leeds/Bradford Airport, so useful for air travellers - they do Stay/park offers. Room 308 a bit hot for me so slept with window open, and heard the local owl but no road/air traffic noise. The sound insulation is good, a VERY happy 50th celebration group further along the corridor but no disturbance. I would go for twin bedded room next time, as the mattress had a ripple effect - if one moved the other felt it too. Evening meal was good, and plentiful. Breakfast was excellent, would cater for all tastes, and plentiful again. Great location for city and countryside, which is stunning even in winter. Road trip to Tan Hill Pub via Hawes to be recommended The Fox & Hounds pub is a pleasant short uphill walk close by. Internet connection with a Dongle worked for us. I would stay here again if it was on a similar offer.

We knew the hotel from previous stays and had first hand experience of how far the staff will go to help there residents, but this Christmas experience was great, from the manager to the housekeeping they put their Christmas on hold to make yours special. The food was hot and plentiful, the room was very comfortable and well located for an elderly lady and the atmosphere and entertainment was good and friendly. We have already booked for next year and are fairly confident that it will not disappoint.

Room Tip: Request a room on ground floor as when hotel busy at times the lifts cause delays

My title line says it all. Only minor grips are the wifi can be a bit sketchy and the swimming pool is CHARGED as an extra. My room is always clean & comfortable. I am happy to continue to use the hotel on a regular basis.

We stayed here for one night before flying out to lanzarote at 7am the following morning. We booked to have the carverey, when we went into eat we were very disappointed with the food, the dessert wasn t sweetened (a sour fruit crumble) also the custard was missing sugar!.The red wine was awful - then to top it all they tried to charge us again when i had paid when i made the reservation! We found our room small with a broken lamp but it was ok for one night. We slept well and got ready to wait for our transfer to the airport. The taxi came and we set off- oh my god what a drive. The driver went 100 mph while messing about on the sat nav! at one point we nearly went into the verge but swerved into middle of the road thank goodness it was so early the roads were quiet- it was at this point my husband told the driver a few choice words! We got out of the taxi feeling like we had been on a ride at alton towers! Due to this experience we will never stay here again.

Bedroom - Furnished in second world war utility style furniture; No mattress cover just a single sheet; TV useless couldn't even watch BBC 1 due to picture continually freezing and in this day and age no Freeview let alone Sky; Bathroom - Plaster cracked and hanging from ceiling; Shower head mouldy and mould also round bath taps; Cracked toilet pan; Paint flaking off door; Cold tap in basin nearly impossible to turn on - need I carry on?

OH yes, Restaurant - I selected from the Al La Carte menu as there was three coach loads of senior citizens using the carvery.

A smoked salmon starter mmmm! Arrived draped over a pile of salad and smothered in Marie Rose sauce, yuk! So onto a simple sirloin steak, chips clearly the remaining bits from a frozen bag inedible; A mushroom that was so overcooked it was black dry and again inedible; Now the steak - well that description alone is false, tough threaded throughout with white gristle and again, inedible.

Breakfast - All looked good, plenty of choice only one problem - no normal sized plates just very slightly bigger side plates that you couldn't put your complete selection on - not because of large portions, simply poached egg, bacon, sausage, tomato and mushrooms which needed two plates!!

Check out? No, "our system went down at 3 am this morning so we can't finish your account or print it, we'll post it to you".
