We stayed for a two night stay with our two spaniels. The room was clean and a lovely bathroom/shower. Staff are fantastic. warm and friendly. The food here is first class and always served hot! You can have a full English breakfast or a takeaway breakfast bun and coffee or of course a continental breakfast. People who get up late can still have breakfast in the bar area. What a great idea and served until 12-00pm.

Top marks to the 'Smithaleigh'

Couple from Lichfield.

Room Tip: Take the advice of the duty manager!

Very friendly welcome with communicative staff throughout which was a real pleasure. Stayed in a motel type block opposite the main building with car parking right outside. Clean room which was a little "tired" but more than ample for our requirements. Breakfasts are extra and we passed (price on the highish side). Location is fine and close to the main Plymouth road which we did not notice having enjoyed a good night's sleep. Our visit was holiday based but the hotel is good for business travellers.

Having been to a few wedding receptions at this venue before, we decided that this was the place for us to hold our reception.
The function room looked outstanding and the food was out of this world both for the main meal and the evening Buffett . The service from the time we arrived was first class.
Clive , Tom and the team could not have done any more to make our day go any better.
This hotel has a small garden which is very picturesque for additional wedding photos which is well maintained. The bridal suite which was complimentary was perfectly adequate and there were no complaints from our guests who had booked rooms for that night.
All in all, I know our wedding guests certainly enjoyed themselves.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.
A massive thanks once again Clive, Tom and all employed. You all played your part in our special day.

I arrived very late one evening without a booking, the receptionist was extremely helpful.
My room was a double room in a block away from the main hotel, it was clean and comfortable. Very quiet. The room was a touch faded in that decor was old fashioned matched by the furniture, the bathroom again old fashioned and needed attention to detail. There was mould in the grouting and the shower cubicle albeit large was a bit of a Heath Robinson contraption .
I would stop again, next time I will try the breakfast. To summarise clean, comfortable, quiet and a touch faded.

Wow what another lovely stay, I've never eaten so much in my life, ate in the restaurant every night and had a wonderful 3 course meal each time. I would recommend eating here if your staying or just passing well worth calling in. The hotel room was spotless, comfortable and quiet . The bed was huge and warm. Staff friendly, happy and helpful. Hotel location excellent for exploring the local area on holiday or staying in Plymouth on business, much better than staying city Center . Will be back again thank you .

We booked to stay at the Smithaleigh Hotel for 3 nights in Plymouth for a family occasion
On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the sweet man on reception(I never found out his name but he recapped me with the 'Corrie' episode the next morning) We had a couple of minor room problems i.e: double not single but it was sorted out immediately
The rooms were cleaned and beds were made daily as were the towels changed, there were tea and coffee facilities replenished daily and the beds were clean and comfortable, there was no traffic noise
The Devon breakfast is to die for, have to diet now.
Really enjoyed it and the location is so easy to find, would go again.

Stayed here with friends for one night as part of trip to see rugby match and see family/friends. Excellent location on the outskirts of Plympton & adjacent to A38 so good for further journeys to South West. Rooms very modern yet located in a traditional building. Showers had piping hot water and room/facilities were excellent in terms of cleanliness. Service was very good in terms of reception, ordering a taxi & the bar. We only stayed for breakfast as we were out with family/friends but if that’s anything to go by the meals are likely to be very good also. Breakfast was wonderful - all the usual plus varied / local food. We saw the menu & specials board for evening meals & plenty of choice with keen prices. Can't fault the place.

Room Tip: We had a room in the building across the patio to the right of main reception. Wonderful.
