“Beats The Hand and Flowers hands down!”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

We've been going to The Treby since before Anton won Professional Masterchef. Since then it hasn't been as easy to get in so our visits have been less regular.
Having booked well in advance we were keen to find out how well The Treby had coped with changes to the building, more covers and greater popularity.

The answer is in the title of this review.

The staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the food and the structural changes had made for more space and atmosphere (we were sat upstairs.)

We chose:-
Hand dived scallops and Ballontine of foie gras as starters - both spectacular, particularly the foie gras with muscat and grape jelly.
This little piggy went to the Treby kitchen and the Lamb rack with sweetbreads.
For desert a White wagon wheel and Chocolate caramel.

We were disappointed when we went to The Hand and Flowers (a 2 Michelin starred restaurant Anton cooked at on his way to winning Professional Masterchef) and were delighted to come back to The Treby to have a truly a memorable meal which was everything we hoped it would be.

Well done Anton and Clare!

This is a really great place to go. Lovely people and stunning food in an informal setting. We shall definitely go again. We were made to feel so welcome and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening which was great fun.

“Good food - good price!”

Four of us visited The Treby Arms for the first time on fathers day. We all went for the Father's Day Menue at £20 per head, three courses with a choice of two per course. All delicious as was the wine. Service was just as we like it, attentive but not overbearing. The pub has been very tastefully restored with a good blend of ancient and modern. Looking forward to a return trip to taste the evening menue!

“Fantastic food in a wonderful atmosphere”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

My son and I went on a specific trip to eat in this restaurant because we had watched the chef Anton as he became the joint winner of Master Chef The Professionals last year. We had the 6 course tasting menu that Anton cooked depending on what he felt like cooking for us. The food was inventive, light and absolutely fabulous. Of course 6 courses was too much but we ate it all. Yum Yum. The service was a delight and the restaurant and the pub area was very clean, bright and homely all at the same time. If you are ever in Plymouth then this is the place to go! Keep it up Anton!.
