“Pleasant stop over before ferry crossing”
Reviewed August 21, 2014

We booked this hotel as the room rate was better than our usual Dover stay. Parking was good with security cameras. MacDonalds opposite and also petrol station with mini Co-op.

Check in was friendly and efficient. Bit of a trek to our room. Our room was fine as the building is new but from our window we could see generators etc which could be heard slightly in the night. Just 4 teabags and milk which is a bit mean. Could not get any warm air from the unit on the wall just cold air.

We had already eaten so did not visit the pub however it doesn't seem to get complimentary reviews.

We would return here as the journey is only about 20 mins to Dover and has pleasant facilities.

Brilliant hotel, clean and spacious rooms!! The restaurant let it down might be a one off but waited over hour for a table and over an hour for food which was dry, we got there at 7.45 and finally got our food at 10pm, the kids were too tired to eat it! The waiter was lovely but rushed off his feet.. Other than that it was a great place to stay.

The room with no view number 142. A Sealed window unit and a large white hoarding just outside the window, masking the venting for the Restaurant/Kitchen plus several flights of stairs to reach it.

A sealed pod and a hoarding taking any view and light away can hardly be described a comfortable room.

The preceding day to our visit we received a text asking if we would like to book a table for dinner, we thought this was very efficient and readily replied, we received another text to confirm our booking.

On arrival at the restaurant we were informed that they did not have a booking for us but as we had chosen to eat early they were able to find us a table. We ordered a bottle of wine and our meal, the wine arrived and so did the wait!!
after over an hour waiting patiently for our meal the waitress came to the table and informed us that our order had not gone through to the kitchen!! by this time our relaxing weekend had turned into anything but!!

We had prepaid for breakfast so on Sunday morning went to the restaurant prepared to accept that the previous evening had been a hiccup oh dear how wrong we were, it was appalling the eggs had been resting on the server for a very long time and looked totally unappetising when my wife commented on this the waitress immediately took them away and requested another tray from the kitchen commenting on their appearance. However it was apparent that many dishes in the kitchen were already under heat lamps waiting to be taken to the server SO NOT SO FRESH.

On a positive note the staff we encountered were all very apologetic and very pleasant. We did receive a refund for the breakfast although we had not asked for this and we were not billed for the evening meal which we never had.

If you are happy with a sealed Pod and a hoarding taking any view and light away then this could be just what you are looking for !!!

All in all this experience of Premier Inn has ensured we will not be returning.

Room Tip: Ask for a room NOT above the Restaurant

Very quiet hotel due to the triple glazing installed because of Manston Airport which is not used anymore. Also good air con. Good road links to margate, ramsgate and Dover 20 minutes away. Usual standard of service and good quality food.

Excellent value for money, excellent food, excellent room. Highly recommended.
Comfortable (extra chaise longue), very good decor. Breakfast was amazing - eat as much as you like and beautifully cooked.
