We had been a few times when it first re-opened after the extension was built which had been OK though not brilliant... but last night I had the best rare fillet steak I've ever been served... ever! Soft and beautifully cooked with crisp, nicely presented vegetables... and, for a treat, very reasonably priced at £16.95 - with a choice of sauces- the Diane sauce I chose was a just a touch sharp but a good contrast- lovely! The pasta looked, and tasted, good too!
Starters were simply presented and delicious- the avocado was ripe and beautifully cut which complemented the tiny shrimps well. No room for puddings!
Only thing we both commented on was the decoration which is modern and clean but with the hard, white ceramic tiled floor it's a bit sparse so noise reverberates around- the white tiled floor makes moving chairs around painfully noisy, like chalk on a blackboard!... plastic buttons fixed the chair feet would stop the vibration and everyone could relax getting up!.
House wine was OK but will go for a softer Merlot next time.
Cafe Latte was a good strength and a lovely end to an excellent meal.
No sign of any footballers' wives, but the restaurant was constantly busy and the place was full with bookings and people just walking in which is good sign!
Thank you, we'll definitely be back more often.... keep doing the fillet steaks just like that at affordable prices and you're onto a sure-fire winner.
