“Unexpected Treat.”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

We used to live in Darras Hall, and went back to meet friends for dinner, who unexpectedly took us here for dinner. What a wonderful meal we all had, I started with the carrot and coriander soup which sounds pretty run of the mill, but it was delicious. I then had the salmon with mussels which was delicious, my husband had a steak which was equally so. Our puddings were also very nice, and the bill a lot less than we often pay in Yorkshire for similar food. Keep up the good work and delicious food.

“fabulous food”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

use this restaurant on a regular basis and don't understand why more of the "exclusive darras hall estate" don't frequent it. Food is excellent, service is acceptable and the early evening supper is good value. Food on par with many award winning establishments.

The only let down is the location (broadway shopping area) where the landlords need to put in some major investment

We had the fish pie for Sunday lunch for a change. Delicious but very filling, no room left for a pudding. Proprietor on foh duties, very knowledgeable, an excellent host, we are fortunate to live close to this restaurant, Highly recommended

“Top Notch”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

I’d discovered this place recently on the web and rang last minute on Sunday last to see if there was a table for two. Luckily for us there was.
Nice décor though as other reviewers have said, you wouldn’t have found the place if you didn’t know it was there.
The menu looked as though it would suits us as hubby can get a roast dinner and I can get something else.
I ordered a cheese and spinach soufflé and a large glass of sauv blanc
Hubby had the roast beef which came with the most huge Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever seen!
Both served with the most perfectly cooked vegetables I think I have ever been served and what a selection.
We shared a portion of Chocolate and beetroot cake with vanilla ice cream, absolutely delicious.
Service fine. Staff friendly. The owner obvious a great host and seemed to know so many of his customers.
Value for money: £43
Must go back!
