“Wonderful!”

We wanted somewhere to stay in or near Dent Village to attend the Dent Music and Beer Festival. Scar View is situated an easy 0.7 mile walk from the peaceful village of Gawthrop to Dent where you'll find two good pubs. The cottage is beautiful and so well equipped and very comfortably furnished. You almost feel as though someone has just popped out for a walk and would be back soon, such was the ambience of the cottage. Rosie and Carl, the owners who live next door, were charming and helpful, even giving us the odd lift to the village! Cooking and washing up in the well-equipped kitchen was a joy with the sound of the beck outside. The views are amazing and the whole week was wonderful.

“A lovely little cottage, deceptively spacious. Carl and Rosie next door are diamonds.”

We stayed over Easter and had a fabulous time, the area is beautiful and the weather was superb, a little chilly in the evening so a roaring log fire was just the icing on the cake. Highly recommended

“Lovely break in a lovely place”

We were made very welcome when we arrived by the man who was laying and starting the fire in the hearth at the cottage. He showed us where everything was in the cottage and how things worked.
Although it was in a remote area with narrow, winding lanes, we were near enough to the village to get into the pub for a few drinks and then walk back again. It was near enough for trips to the Lakes and also to the North Yorkshire Moors so we had some lovely trips out.

What a lovely cottage, cosy & comfortable with everything we needed for our weeks stay. Rosie & Carl welcomed us as we arrived & were both friendly & helpful. Dentdale offers lots of walks with stunning scenery with many places to visit within easy driving. We are already planning to return soon.
