Yes, the grounds of this hall (and the attached more modern hotel) are stunning but my experience failed to match the five-star setting. Okay, I was on a corporate pre-Christmas 'do' but I was expecting better.
Spacious room let down by small details (loose fittings in the bathroom, tv not working, bedside bulb blown etc) and cheap toiletries. I reported the tv but it still wasn't fixed by the time I went to bed - and no explanation or apology.
We had all pre-chosen our menu so no excuse for the same vegetables (including brussel sprouts) whether you were having turkey or sea-bass. Had to chase the staff several times for wine top-up (don't think it was just the host being tight!)
Breakfast was pretty average - didn't try the cooked but orange juice was clearly from concentrate and not fresh. And, to cap it all, they charge for wi-fi (which is now free even at motorway service stations!)
Sorry, not the premium standard it makes itself out to be.

Large comfortable room with good facilities. Set in beautiful grounds, a truly stunning location. Reception were warm, friendly and welcoming. The only thing we didn't like was we were unable to open the windows in our room, they had been screwed shut.

Hotel room was massive & well appointed with a six foot wide double bed. Breakfast was very good, but on a three night stay over New Year. Meat overcooked & tough,Chicken was on menu on all three nights (one night it was the only choice) the same four veg every night were parsnip, swede, red pepper, & carrot, very pretty to look at but very boring no variety at all. They need to change their chefs for older more experienced ones. Bar price list so small it was impossible to read, & you found out why when you paid for your drinks. £12 for 2 Brandy & cokes. This is a lot of profit on a bottle of Brandy. Most people only brought one drink all night. This is the only place I have ever been on New Years Eve when NOBODY was merry. Packed lunches £12 needless to say they did not have to make any.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review after your stay with us. Thank you for your kind words about breakfast and our bedrooms, I was saddened to hear you felt our choice of vegetables were limited and only wish you had highlighted this to your tour manager as we do have a talented brigade of chefs who would have been more than happy to accommodate your requests.

Again, I am truly sorry you feel no-one was merry on New Years Eve, I have to say each time I visited the Hotel that evening I thought the atmosphere was fantastic, with many of your travelling companions and tour manager on the dance floor enjoying themselves immensely.

Once again thank you for your feedback and rest assured we will take on board your comments.

Thank you.

We have stayed in this hotel 3 times this year just to enjoy getting away for a few days and relaxing. The setting is fantastice with lovely walks round the gardens, lake and old hall, also across the estate.
The rooms are of a high standard - we had a balcony room on the first floor the first time we stayed and on the second and third stay had a ground floor room with a patio door to the outside - ducks came to visit us on a couple of occassions.
The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean.
The restaurant serves an excellent breakfast and evening meal. A window table with veiws over the gardens is a bonus.
Well placed for a short journey into either Stratford or Warwick. The village of Walton is also an easy stroll from the hotel and well worth a look.

My partner and I have just got back from a 2 night stay and I really can't fault the hotel. Initially we had booked the hotel but after checking into the room it didnt have a balcony so asked if we could change our room for one with a balcony which they kindly agreed to. However, the room then had twin beds and not a double so after pointing this out to the receptionist she spoke to the manager and gave us a free upgrade to the coach house (which is an annex to the hall) which should have cost an additional £20 p/n at no extra cost. The location, grounds, room, food and service were all second to none. If you are on a budget then don't eat at the hotel as the menu was pricey but you have Warwick and Statford-upon-Avon both a 10 minute drive away which both have lots of different places to eat and the towns are booth beautiful. The food we did have was the buffet style breakfasts which had a great variety of different foods and were all very tasty and constantly topped up. If you want a treatment book it in advance as they were fully booked and couldn't fit us in due to the wedding guests booking up all slots. All in all a hotel which I can't fault and would recommend to friends and family and furthermore at exceptional value.
