Following a busy period that covered birthdays, anniversaries and a new business launch we decided we needed a treat.
Fortunate to get a short notice booking and as ever Le Manoir delivered. From the minute you arrive you know its special. I love that French approach to food hospitality. Great aperitif on arrival, with lovely canapés. Keeping thinks simple we went with the 6 course and accompanying wine. All spectacular, some interesting choices of wine, which is good as I am a bit fixed on my likes and rarely experiment. The only strange wine choice was the Jura wine that accompanied the Jura Cheese, however the other wines were spectacular. The food was wonderful, fresh, varied and interesting. The Blackcurrant desert being a highlight! I look forward to our next visit with excitement. I must go one time so I can see the acclaimed garden too.

Dear Jezblanc,

Thank you for sharing. The Comte cheese and Jura wine is something Rb wanted to introduce to our guests as it comes from his home town.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Kind regards,

Raymond Blanc and the team at Le Manoir.

My wife and I travelled via the British Pullman (Orient Express) leaving Victoria station in London and arriving at Oxford ready for the coach transit to Le Manoir. This train journey was exceptional and the ambiance, attentiveness of staff and food quality were second to none.

Arriving at the Le Manoir we were showed to our table and again it proved to be perfect. Staff very courteous and attentive, the 4 course lunch was superb and the accompanying wines excellent. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

After lunch, before taking the coach back to Oxford, we spent time looking around Le Manoir grounds and organic gardens where they grow veg. and herbs. This again was a great set up. Also the grounds are filled with various bronze and wicker statues which added that perfect touch.

On returning to Le Manoir reception desk, Raymond Blanc was meeting guests, signing Books and Menu's. He was actually swamped but took it in his stride and satisfied everyone's request and took time to have photo's taken. This was a very good public relations touch, which showed he cared for his clientele.

Returning to the Pullman for the journey home to Victoria, we had Cheese and wine, dessert with wine and coffee, a perfect round up to an overall superb day.
If you are able to do this I would thoroughly recommend.

Room Tip: If you are arriving at Victoria, London to Join the Orient Express and are travelling in the morning...

What a great place. We stayed here for 2 nights (special occasion) and had a garden suite. Every detail is thoroughly thought through, and the service level is perfect with all staff clearly on the same page.
As for the food...just incredibly good.
This is an unstuffy, quality destination for a special time. Expensive, but worth it.

I ate at Le Manoir on Friday and it was without doubt the most fabulous experience for me and my wife.

Having lived in Old Marston Village 20 yards from Raymond for years until we moved I had a goal to eat at Le Manoir.

I can say having eaten at many of the best restraunts in the world NONE of them compare with Le Manoir. From the pre meal drink and complimentary crudités in the lounge (which themselves are a work of art) thru the lunch menu (and i can tell you the salmon with apple and verbena is the best piece of food I have ever tasted) even the bread is spectacular, all the way thru to the coffee and petit fours in the lounge. The whole experience was amazing.

The service ....... Amazing. From the man on gate who handed us an umbrella from the car park, to the charming Catalonian waiter who explained every dish, thru to the vedgetable gardener in the most amazing gardens who was enthusiastic to explain to us the contents of the garden.

The thing that struck me was that every member of staff seemed hugely proud of being a part of it.

Expensive, No. I cannot think of anywhere else myself and my wife could have had such an experience for the price.

A family milestone was the perfect opportunity to dine at Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons and stay overnight in their sumptuous suites!, Located in Oxfordshire, it's a grand English manor house with surrounding gardens, in easy driving distance from London. Beautiful artwork, personally selected by owner-chef Raymond Blanc, adorns the well-appointed suites. Walk through the herb and vegetable garden - it's a treat! The staff are very polite and courteous, and even escorted us through the Manoir kitchens at our request! The 5-course tasting dinner menu and a lavish breakfast the next morning completed the wonderful experience. A perfect selection for a week-end of celebration!

We had lunch at Le Manoir on our first wedding anniversary and as a surprise my husband booked a return visit for our tenth wedding anniversary. Not much had changed (the amazing gardens have grown though) and the food was just as good as the last time we visited. We had the five course tasting lunch, which is good value compared to the al a carte. You'd be hard pressed to find a similar tasting lunch in London of the same standard for a similar price. Service was impeccable, staff attentive but not over powering. We had a wonderful time followed by a lovely walk around the stunning gardens. Would thoroughly recommend for lunch.

Our 10th Wedding Anniversary. We were married here. The food is better by the year; the staff friendlier; their inherent knowledge increases and the rooms (Dovecote was exceptional - again) are wonderful. But what really makes this experience special is the attention to detail. My wife's personal favourite attention to detail was the padded small stool by the dining table for her handbag; so thoughtful, that she did not have to put it on the floor and it was within easy reach. The staff really set this place apart; make you feel so welcome and comfortable - in particular, sommelier (Jeremy O) was so helpful to us and gave us vineyard recommendations for our holiday in France. Words cannot tell you what to expect here..
