I had heard many great things about this hotel and decided to stay here the night before my wedding in a double twin room. The building is gorgeous and the staff were lovely. We were able to check in earlier and were offered help to carry all of our stuff upstairs. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was absolutely delicious. My friend is a vegan and she was able to make up her own choice of dish which was great. We asked if we could breakfast in the room the next day and this was not a problem at all. We had a wide choice of things to eat including fill english, croissants, cheeses, cols meats, cereal and yoghurt. The room was clean and tidy and the shower very powerful. The only downsides unfortunately were the wifi is very poor. I was connected to the network but the internet would not load at all. Secondly, we only had one pillow each in the room and it was not of good quality. I had to literally fold it in half to get some comfort. Finally, there was four of us in the room and we ran out of toilet paper. Somebody had to run down to reception to get some, an inconvenience really as we were very busy the next morning preparing for the wedding.

Overall, a good stay.

Stayed at the Guildhall Tavern whilst visiting relatives, stay organised by my partner....stayed in the Dinbych Suite....was absolutely gorgeous. Had a decanter of Sherry in the room which was a nice touch. Four Poster bed and the bathroom with free standing bath and also a massive shower as well was amazing! Apparently they have had new ownership recently and a new chef - customer friendly hotel and food was really good. 10/10 for this delightful hotel.

My girlfriend booked us into this hotel for a 2 night stay in march.. On entry we thought were to park.. But found we can park right at hotel rear and was great for both nights... Was glad to find a nice welcome from daveth at the front desk.. Nice chap and very welcoming.. Our room was the ostery on the top floor.. Nice clean and warm.... And very spacious.. As this hotel is a 16th century building, its still a lovely hotel with old decor throughout including home fire in the bar. The breakfast was fantastic with prompt service and good advice from the staff for the area in Denbigh.. All in all was a relaxing stay for any really, and the chime from the local church bell kept us both up to date with time, But if you like modern up to date decor then I suppose this is not for you, but we thought it was lovely & quirky...just one thing don't drink to much as the floors are uneven we both thought we was drunk.... Lol..

Chris & Natalie.. X

Room Tip: Recommend.

My partner and I stayed at the Guildhall Tavern for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary after we got a KGB deal. The staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. We ended up with a lovely, comfortable spacious suite with a view of the castle. It would have been good to have a hairdryer in the room but at least there was one available from reception. The breakfast was really nice and there was lots of choice. We had an evening meal there one night which was ok but there aren't many other restaurants nearby. Although there isn't much in Denbigh, the hotel is in an ideal location for walking around Denbigh and driving to visit other nearby towns. The only possible downside is that it can be quote noisy in the evening. However, we did expect that as we're staying above the bar. Overall, I recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing mini break.

Had a fantastic stay, we upgraded to the luxury suite and was worth every penny. Customer service second to none, nothing was too much trouble for Jules, she was the perfect host. Breakfast filled us up until teatime :o)

Room Tip: The Dinbych Suite is well worth paying the extra for

Had a fantastic lunch at the Guildhall on a saturday. Was welcomed by Julie, one of the new owners- first class and a very delightful member of staff. Fabulous choice of food and opted for the homemade lasagne with garlic bread while daughter had scampi & homemade chips. Served piping hot and really tasty. Reasonably priced under £15. Would definately go there again. Toilets clean. Whatever has happened in the past is in the past.
New people give it a go.
Best wishes to Carl and Julie.

My partner & I stayed here on a KGB deal back in March. The hotel building is beautiful & the dining rooms really cosy. Our room was really comfortable with a nice big window (with a handy ledge for cooling our bottle of wine - we visited on a very cold & snowy weekend!). Bathroom quite luxurious & tea, coffee, hot choc & biscuits a nice touch. Breakfast included a nice big fry up but also some other options including pancakes. Staff friendly & welcoming. Located near a small castle/fort but otherwise a drive to tourist destinations. Be warned - local pubs & restaurants may not be open/offer food in low season, but we found a lovely curry house nearby.
