“Wonderful Place, Relaxing Stay, Stunning Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2009

We have just spent a few days in Denbigh for work in the area, and after discovering Castle House B&B we didn't want to leave! Charlie and Angie made us feel instantly welcome and comfortable. The house is stunningly beautiful, with quality Georgian period style. The bedroom was spacious and clean, with nice touches: underfloor heating in the bathroom, floor lights (no stumbling in the night!), Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries and fluffy white towels. The bed was seriously comfortable, with soft cotton sheets and a dreamy mattress. I can't remember when I slept so well! And we couldn't stop looking out the huge Georgian windows - for the stretching views across the Denbigh valley and hills beyond. It simply took our breath away.

Breakfast deserves a special mention - a real gourmet treat. Angie makes the best coffee, and they offer every tea you could think of!

The location is great, with the castle ruins literally right behind the house, and a footpath up to the city walls and ruins. This place is a real gem, and we will definitely be back.

Beautiful Grade 2 listed building recently converted from a house into a hotel. Lovely people running it, Angie and Charlie who live on site. Loads of free parking, fantastic views of the hills (Clwydian I think), great breakfasts and superb decor.
There are three very individually designed bedrooms and two cottages in the grounds.
Really enjoyed it, would recommend to anyone.

Stayed in Castle House for the weekend - the B&B is in an amazing setting just below Denbigh castle with fantastic views. The house is absolutely fantastic and the hosts made us very welcome. The rooms are very large and beautifully furnished and the facilities are super - the en-suite bathrooms are very nicely finished. The 'full Welsh' breakfasts set us up nicely for the day. Probably the best B&B I've ever stayed in (and I've stayed in a lot!).

Castle House is like no other bed and breakfast I have ever stayed at before. To start with the views were amazing, the hosts were lovely - very down to earth and made you feel tight at home straight away. The house has recently just undergone a change from a stately home to an amazing bed and breakfast. The bedrooms were that well finished they looked like photos you would see in a magazine. The en-suites had lovely roll top baths and finished beautifully. I went to a pub/restaurant that was recommended by the hosts just down the road and the steak was lovely. To round everything off I was greeted by a full Welsh breakfast in the morning that set me up perfectly for the day. I would definately go back for the experience, would be a great place to take your other half for a break away. I cannot express enough how nice this place was, go and see it yourself!

We stayed at Castle House in February 2009.

When we called up they suggested that the Dudley Room which has an oak Four Poster bed in it would be ideal for a romantic break and they weren't wrong!

Right from the word go (or should I say "Croesu" as that us how they welcomed us), the owners - Charlie and Angie - couldn't do enough they were very attentive but were still discreet.

The bed room itself was luxurious. The four poster bed was one of the most comfortable (and romantic) beds I have slept in away from home. Sitting in the bath in the morning with a view of the Clwydian hills was a novel experience too! The dining room and lounge were beautiful and very comfortable too.

The house is set in its own grounds which include a large private wood and they even have a ruined chapel in the grounds that was built for Elizabeth 1st! Now beat that for unique and romantic!!

We opted for the full Welsh Breakfast which was served by just about the whole family in turn, and which set us up for the day exploring the area.

It seems that they have only just started out doing B&B this year but they have everything sorted here - We simply couldn't fault the house, the food or the welcome and professionalism of the hosts who seemed to have thought of everything.

We will definitely be back!
