Stayed here for one night to get some peace and quiet and a good night sleep . Frist impression was good was glad we choose Gellifawr. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant and the rib eye steak was wonderful as well as the sea bass. Staff were courteous and professional.. Being dairy farmers we turned to bed by 10.00pm and was hoping to have a good night sleep until 8.00am. Unfortunately we were awaken at midnight due to a loud rumbling noise from an extractor fan or boiler in another location of the hotel. the room was hot , and the bed was average, have slept in comfier beds. Also there was loose wall paper above the radiator. Eventually Fell asleep about 2ish only to be awaken again to the loud noise at 6am !! Complaint to reception about the noise on checkout but although she apologised and said she would check the room out, apparently we were the first to complain about the noise - usual story when one complains about something. Anyway on reading the reviews here , somebody else stayed in room 5 back in June and complained about the same issues. Its a pity they have not rectified the problems . Will go back for food but will not be staying in room 5 again ! We slept after coming home. !
