We stayed at Fairyhill for 4 nights in early July, in need of some rest and relaxation and a little TLC and it certainly delivered!
We arrived mid afternoon and made the most of the sunshine to explore the lovely grounds which included a river and lake. We stayed in room 7 which has a lovely view over the gardens - our only gripe being that the window is small which made the room rather dark.
The meals were wonderful, beginning with canapés in the lounge and then moving to 3 courses in the dining room. The food was fresh, tasty, locally sourced (some from the hotel's own garden), seasonal and beautifully presented.
On day 3 we treated ourselves to a pre-booked massage which certainly helped the relaxation process!
Service was unobtrusive and relaxed which was just what we were after.
The Gower location contains some real gems and we got seriously sunburned on Rhossili beach
Overall, not cheap, but just what we needed, so well worth it

We spent one night here. The hotel is nicely furnished and has lovely grounds and a terrace for drinks. Our room was very comfortable and attractively decorated.

Dinner was good but not exceptional - not as good as Patrick's with Rooms in Mumbles where we stayed the previous night. The portion sizes were quite small, and my risotto rather tasteless. Breakfast was very good.

The only niggle was rather inefficient admin - there was a mistake with the dates for our booking made via the online booking system, and we were overcharged on the room rate which was subsequently refunded.

It is about two years since I last visited Fairy Hill. I have noted that a very few people have been dissatisfied in one way or another and I suppose this will always happen. The vast majority still find Fairy Hill amazing.
I can only say that it is still like pushing your way through a magical veil into a world where peace and tranquility is normal and where nothing is too much trouble. The grounds are interesting with wild meadow, lawn, woodland, herb garden and many other features all to be discovered. Service is unpretentious, almost psychic and a complete pleasure to experience.
A new chef had been installed very recently and this can always cause some upheaval but - no - not a bit of it, the food was its usual excellent standard and is complemented by a good varied wine list.
It is said that any good service should leave you wanting more. I want more and if possible I truly think I would never leave. Astoundingly good hotel and restaurant.

Room Tip: More expensive rooms are bigger and have slightly better facilities but all rooms are very adequate with DVD and CD player as well as TV. Rooms overlooking the garden are favoured by many but other rooms are often very quiet and cool in the summer

This is a top notch inn. Every part of the experience was excellent. The grounds and rooms are beautiful, the staff are friendly and helpful at all times, the kitchen delivers wonderful meals and it is a great base from which to explore the Gower area of Wales. I would not hesitate to stay here again and can't recommend it highly enough.
