We stayed at this hotel 12 November 2012 for three nights. we were given two superior rooms with Loch view and balconies. The situation is to die for. There has been a lot of undeserved criticism by previous clients as to the dated decor and menu choice. I think these people shound be staying in a stainless steel plastic sterile hotel. The decor may be a little dated, but the staff made up for this with excellent attention and friendliness. The menu choice and quality of food especially fish was excellent. We congratulated the chef. And, we will certainly return. Our companions who can be difficult to please were equally impressed. Breakfasts and choice of fish in particular was very good. Well done!

John and Breda Lindsay room 7.

Room Tip: Room 7 or room 9 for sea view and balcony!

Many thanks for taking time out to write your lovely review of our hotel.
The scenery in the area is certainly some of the most spectacular in the country and we love it when others can see the beauty and charm of Highlands as we can.
The Chef was delighted with your comments about the quality of our food, he has done his utmost to provide guests with good quality Scottish choices. Thank you.
We very much hope to see you return in the summer months for that ice cold Guiness and you can enjoy our gardens when they are flourishing.
Looking forward to welcoming you back to The Onich Hotel

My wife and I spent three nights dinner bed and breakfast at The Onich Hotel from 01/10/2012.Our journey from Irvine passed through some of the most beatiful scenery in Scotland.Across The Erskine bridge, past Loch Lomond, over Rannoch Moor and through haunting Glencoe. With a warm welcome at reception we were shown to our clean and spacious room overlooking Loch Linnhe. It had tea and coffee making facilities, freewiew T.V. and a complimentary bottle of wine thanks to booking through Classic Britain. The evening meals were served in the lounge bar with a beautiful view over Loch Linnhe. The meals were very good ,specially the mussels and the venison casserole. My only disappointment was the sirloin steak which was rather tough and fatty, but I suppose with steak it can be just your luck. There was an excellent choice of food for breakfast.I particularly enjoyed the kippers and poached egg which I had not eaten for years due to the hassle with the bones, however with these ones most of the bones peeled off in one piece. All the staff were friendly and service was very good.Overall our stay was excellent value for money.I would like to return again in the summer as I could picture myself sitting in the beautiful gardens looking over the Loch chilling out with an ice cold Guinness.

This is an excellent little hotel conveniently just a few miles from Fort William but it's best feature has to be it's location on the side of a loch. Lovely rooms and great food served. We had a room with a balcony, and it's all too easy to just sit and watch the loch from there forever!

All of the staff in the hotel were delighted with your comments.
You should return again in the summer months so that you can spend all day drinking in the view from our Balcony Rooms.

On arrival the reception looked gloomy and cold, our room was small and cold and the decor was very tired with the arms on the chairs split and frayed. There is no central heating in any part of the hotel, the corridors were cold and our bedroom, the bar and dining area heated by electric heaters.
This hotel is set in an idyllic location with beautiful gardens and stunning views over loch Linnhe and convenient for Glencoe and Fort William.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were very tasty.
Overall a good location with friendly staff but we wouldn't go back in the winter months.
