Description: CLOSED FOR THE SEASON Back mid March 2018 Lochleven Seafood Café, Deli and Gift Shop is situated on the north shores of beautiful Loch Leven3 (on the B86 in North Ballachulish) on the west coast in the Highlands of Scotland. Allowing the sea loch and mountain views to take centre stage alongside our simple yet elegant seafood dishes, our café is designed modest and unamusing. Live shellfish for our family run Restaurant and Deli is kept in onsite seawater tanks where the water is pumped continuously from the cold clean sea-loch on our shore. After being caught locally by our own fishing boats, the shellfish is stored in these tanks. This allows our Chefs to access the freshest possible west coast seafood for the Restaurant and our Deli.

We had the extravagant and wonderful cold shellfish platter. It was cheap but it isn't to be missed. Informal place (no white tablecloth).... so all your money is going into the food.

After nearly a week on the West Highland Way, we were sick to death of heavy lub grub. so we hopped in a cab and went to this place at our B&B owner's suggestion. It was just the ticket. The service was very nice and funny. Between the four of us we had a broad array of dishes and all were great. My favorite were the grilled langoustine. All washed down with some nice Sicilian white wine. We will be back on the trail tomorrow with a smile on our face!

The Loch Leven Seafood Café was Scotlands best Seafood Restaurant in 2011 and it is worth a visit! Try the hot seafood platter — it serves two and theres almost everything of the menu on it. The atmosphere is quite clean und raw, but the waiters are very friendly!

The food was great - a rare experience because they are specialized in shellfish. They prepare it in a perfect way and you will leave the restaurant with a new and great experience of food!

I have eaten here 3 times and this place is for sure the best food option for quite some miles.

The Café is in a new building beside its industrial fishing unit with a commendable brave modern decor, a menu with Spanish leanings and staff whose sense of service and hospitality needs to mature both in skill and attitude.

The menu is reassuringly small and pricey but missing a couple of more affordable inviting options which would be so easy to do given the Spanish theme.

Prices are premium and though the seafood is good, too high for a restaurant which is still growing to become an assured establishment with a consistent cuisine, excellent service and a rounded menu.

I wish it success and will be back!
