Description: Lochleven Seafood Café, Deli and Gift Shop is situated on the shores of beautiful Loch Leven3 (on the B86 in North Ballachulish) on the west coast in the Highlands of Scotland. Allowing the sea loch and mountain views to take centre stage alongside our simple yet elegant seafood dishes, our café is designed modest and unamusing. Live shellfish for our family run Restaurant and Deli is kept in onsite seawater tanks where the water is pumped continuously from the cold clean sea-loch on our shore. After being caught locally by our own fishing boats, the shellfish is stored in these tanks. This allows our Chefs to access the freshest possible west coast seafood for the Restaurant and our Deli.

We visited this restaurant whilst on holiday. We eat out a lot but haven't tasted seafood as good as this for a long time if ever. The freshest seafood simply but classically cooked. The surf clams with ham and sherry was fantastic. Scallops beautifully cooked in sesame seed soy sauce just perfect. Pan fried halibut with gnocchi was so tasty fantastic cooked fish. My fiancee opted for half lobster but she was given a full lobster for same price. Even creme brulee was superb. Oban chocolates with coffee rounded off evening. Service excellent and great value for money - proper portions as well. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this restaurant for even the most discerning diner.

Absolutely amazing food and the service excellent. We arrived too early (at 4.30 and they didn't open until 6) but as the chef was in they welcomed us in at 4.30 for which we were very grateful. Thanks for such a lovely meal and service. Will definitely come again when we are in the area.

Thank plrj

I have been here many times now, at all times of the year and with different sized groups from a couple through to a groups of up to 13 or 14. I have had consistently good food and good informed service. The cafe is always welcoming. The seafood is always fresh and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is always good. Of neccesity it is not cheap, but I still think it represents reasonable value for money.

A no nonsense seafood restuarant with the freshest ingredients, served in a cafe environment. Very relaxed atmosphere with helpful and attentitive staff. Simple selection of the best seafood Scotland has to offer, consistently good.

With the shellfish held in massive tanks adjacent, it's difficult to avoid 'carry-outs' even after a full lunch experience, the crab is magnificent and worth a special journey. Expect it to be always busy and try and reserve a table if you can. A trip to this part of the country should always include a visit for some langoustines or mussels in cider.

Tremendous. Been several times and it's always been a treat!

We were driving past looking for coffee or lunch. We thought we'd give it a try and ended up having the Hot Seafood Platter between the two of us. It was awesome! Some foreign photo-journalists on the next table wanted to take photos of it for their article. It tasted great. I have eaten seafood all over the world, this is probably the best seafood I have had.

Service was excellent, as was the panna cotta dessert and coffee.

We are planning another visit soon.
