“Perfect Holiday Home”

Although deceivingly modest from the outside, Oystercatcher Cottage in Saltburn along the road from Invergordon has the "wow" factor indoors. The extension at the back contains a large, airy modern kitchen, and each of the two spacious double bedrooms on the first floor has its own classy en-suite, with the double bedroom downstairs all but having its own shower-room too. The stairs themselves are an attractive feature, and the front porch is an ideal sun-trap to sit and admire the beautiful views across the Cromarty Firth to the Black Isle. There is total privacy in the large garden at the back. The property is extremely well-equipped and the friendly owner was very helpful, arriving within minutes to sort a minor problem with the TV. There is a lot to see and do in the area, and the cottage is ideally placed. We have stayed in many holiday lets over the years, and this one ranks as one of the best.

“Lovely cottage and great location”

Loved our stay in the cottage. It has everything we could have wished for. The log burner was great and made the chilly October nights we stayed really cosy. The cottage is really clean and comfortable, and the welcome basket was much appreciated. The views over the Cromerty Firth were fabulous and the stony beach across the road was nice for a wee stroll. The location is ideal for touring the highlands, Cromerty, Chanonry Point, Loch Ness etc all within an easy drive. Would definitely love to stay here again and already considering booking for summer next year.

“Great cottage with view on the sea”

Perfect cottage very well equipped. Very cosy with a generous welcome package. It is even better than the pictures show. We enjoyed travelling to the north (Tongue, Durness) and west to Ullapool. There are great walking paths on Black Isle, near Golspie, Lairg and Rosehall.
And there always seems to be a sunny spot on Saltburn, also when it rains everywhere else.

“Home away from home”

The house was delightful. We felt comfortable in it immediately, and there was a town nearby, so we had everything we needed at our fingertips. The wifi and internet worked well, too. The road in front of the house was a little high-speed, but it was not heavily traveled so the general ambience was quiet and peaceful. Plus, the firth is just beyond the road, so there is a nice view and a place to walk in the mornings. We all agreed (2 couples) that it was a great place to stay.

“Perfect”
Reviewed June 3, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

The cottage is outstanding. Clean, spacious, perfectly decorated and the welcome pack is the cherry on top of the cake. We've already booked again for next year and hopefully many more years to come. Can't fault it in any way

Second visit to Oyster catcher cottage . The best place by far to stay. Once again a welcome pack filled with goodies fridge also with cheese milk and butter .

It was my birthday and my granddaughters second and where better to be. I also was able to get my mum into cottage . She is in a wheelchair and it was great that the space catered for the chair.

The house is always spotless and as everything you possibly need it is great.

The children love the view from their window and to watch the boats. The sea view is great.

Once again thankyou to the owner for the great standard of his cottage.

“Slice of modern comfort in a traditional setting”
Reviewed November 25, 2013 for a stay in November 2013

The cottage was a very pleasant surprise. The photos on the website did not do it justice. All three bedrooms had ensuite facilities, which provided privacy and ease in the mornings. The cottage was very comfortable and well set out and the kitchen spacious. The beach is literally on your doorstep with great views of the Black Isle. Will definitely stay again.
