We have just returned from a weekend at the Ullswater view and had a wonderful time. Julie is wonderful - so friendly and helpful and seemed to appear from nowhere whenever you needed anything. The rooms and bed were very comfortable with lovely views. It was very enjoyable relaxing in the conservatory with a glass of wine on arrival and the hotel (which is how it feels) is handy for all the beauty spots and some lovely pubs. We would highly recommend it to anybody and I hope will return some time in the future.
Thanks Julie.

My other half and I went here as a last minute spur of the moment thing and had the time of our lives. AS already mentioned by people before (and I am sure after me) Julie was so helpful and couldn't do enough to help. The conservatory was a haven to relax in, the rooms were spotless with lovely views and it was just an all round lovely place to visit.
The breakfasts should also be mentioned as they are delicious and just as I thought the weekend couldn't get any better, my other half proposed....a perfect end to a perfect weekend. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

We stayed in the Ullswater view for new years eve, and can honestly say it was the most gorgeous, friendly, clean, welcoming b&b my husband and I have ever stayed in. It has all the qualities of a 5 star hotel {without the price} with so many little finishing touches that finish it all off. Julie and her staff are incredible and so friendly. We wish her all the luck in the world. We will definately return and highly recommend to others to go and see for themselves. The breakfast was outstanding and probably the best we have ever eaten.

The best B&B for miles around! More like a little boutiquey hotel really. Lovely rooms, great furnishings and conservatory to gaze out at the lake views with a glass of wine in the evening. Julie (the owner) is a doll (and a Jane Horrocks look and sound a like); so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Her recommendations were all spot on. Breakfast is fantastic, locally sourced products cooked beautifully. Can't recommend enough, we are regulars! :-)

Stayed after a long walk up Helvellyn. Thought was situated in a village/close to pubs etc but a little way from Glenridding. Great location by the lake and spectacular views but don't expect to walk to a nearby village as it is a drive away. When we arrived Julie was especially welcoming as was the pot of fresh coffee in the lovely new conservatory. The room was quite small but comfortable - only complaint would be very thin walls and could here snoring all night and showers and toliets in the morning. Breakfast was excellent and the licensed bar was a welcome addition. Looks like the B&B is being refurbushed (and whilst more than satisfactory as is) am sure it will only get better as completed. Would recommend for a short break.

This is an extremely good B & B, with an excellent proprietor. She made us feel very welcome. Our room was very tastefully furnished and the bed was ever so comfortable. Best of all - the breakfast was FAB! with just about the best sausages I've tasted. Definately return, and recommend to anybody.

On arriving on a late fri evening we found that we had been upgraded to a luxury room which was a great bonus! The room was to a very high spec with nice touches most of which you wouldn't find in luxury hotels. Would be an excellent hotel for families too as this was a family rsuite with a seperate room with bunkbeds LCD TV and DVD player. The information provided for activities to do in the surrounding area was detailed and sufficient. This along with info provided by the owner Julie who was extremely hospitable helped us plan the first day of our break. Breakfast was of a very high standard with a varied choice and great quality produce used. Often when I have stayed in hotels in the past breakfast can be greasy with processed food being used, this def was not the case: the best breakfast I have ever tasted!!! The location of the hotel is good virtually half way between Pooley Bridge and Glenridding. Ullswater is much quieter than Windermere and I would definately recommend this as a great place to get away from it all for both couples and families.
