“quiet little hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2011

this is a nice hotel, very cosy but rather far from... anything.
rooms are spacious and clean (a little old-fashioned, but who cares :))
There is no restaurant in the vicinity, so you need to take the car to a town center nearby if you want diner/lunch
breakfast: croissant, piece of bread, marmelade and coffee (very good coffee) or tea (which we didn't try). There are cereals too if you want. So very "lmited" breakfast, but it's still nice.
The pool has pool chairs, but not the most comfortable ones.
So in short, a nice environment to rest... too bad you have to leave the hotel to eat lunch and diner.
VERY friendly staff

We found this place through Logis and booked it for just one night at the last minute to follow our day at the bull fights in Arles on Easter Sunday, so we were very pleased to find a hotel with some charm, friendly people and reasonable pricing. This hotel appears to be a family-run operation, and though the building is just a bit dog-eared, I found the situation, the turreted building and our room very charming. As we were traveling with our 15-year-old son, we booked a room for three which came with one single bed and one double bed which were divided by the bathroom (my son enjoyed his private nook). Beds were comfortable, and the staff very friendly - some of whom spoke English and others who tolerated our tourist French amiably. Not much in this little town which does not even appear on our Michelin Map, but very convenient to Avignon. We were easily able to navigate our way there for dinner (a nice meal just inside the city walls but under the stars) and back again in darkness. Each downstairs room has french doors that open onto a terrace overlooking a courtyard. With two Logis chimneys, please don't expect Castel Mouisson to have plush towels and luxurious bathrooms, but if you are like me you'll appreciate the value, the individuality, and the real furniture (rather than the usual hotel-chain institutional stuff). Their breakfast is very good, too.

Room Tip: Rooms downstairs have doors to terrace.

This hotel is average although the grounds are nice and the staff extremely pleasant and helpful. The rooms were 'cleaned' and the beds made in barely 5 minutes flat. The grouting around the bath, basin and toilet is grubby and the furniture in the rooms old. The first room we had was damp and smelled musty, however we changed rooms and the next room was not damp.
The standard of workmanship in the rooms has to be seen to be believed - don't stay in this hotel if you are a craftsman, you will have nightmares!!
Whoever created their website deserves a large fee as they made the place look heaps better than it actually is.
Although the hotel only provides breakfast, which can be eaten in the hotel or grounds, they do not allow other food (or, as they say, picnics ) to be taken into any part of the premises. This meant that we could not take a snack back and had to eat every meal out.

After I booked this hotel, i was quite pleased because it was very cheap and looked good on the website.
Good points: cheap (we paid 61 euro for double room with 2 campbeds for young children), 10 minutes from Avignon, nice from the outside, nice garden + pool.
Bad points: we felt that the hotel was mutton dressed as lamb...it looked like it had been refurbished, but very cheaply. There were spiders around the toilet, and the bathroom felt old and dirty. The sheets were dirty in one corner. The bed was way too soft.

Overall, we had a disgusting feeling and couldn't wait to get out of there the next morning, which is a shame. I wouldn't go back there and I would advise you to avoid it. Lucky it was only one night!
