“Great value”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

We stayed here after a wedding nearby and we were surprised as the rates were so cheap. A very clean and comfortable room with tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We didn't make use of the leisure facilities though so cant comment but the pool looked nice through the window!
There was a nice bar upstairs although we had to ask for someone to open it and they took so long we had to leave. Shame really, as they could have had more business.
Overall, great value in nice grounds for anyone who's visiting ramsbottom and is on a budget!

Stayed here several times due to local family. Always been reasonable as a hotel and price reflects that. Hotel is a bit dated, but staff friendly and food fine. Good parking and close to centre of the town although up a steep hill.

I've stayed in the old mill about a dozen times over the last couple of years. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The hotel has reasonable gym, small swimming pool and spa (free access for guests with towels provided). The food is very good (bar food & restaurant). The rooms vary in size, they are generally good and clean but can be tired in places. Sky TV in Hotel and rooms. Free WiFi (some rooms struggle to get a good signal, but most rooms & Bar are fine).
Overall a good value hotel with character

I booked this place to attend a function nearby and my companion and I really felt relaxed which was the reason for staying. We arrived early and the helpful receptionist and gym trainer guy arranged for our luggage to be stored and taken to the room when it was ready.

On our return the the staff member arranged to open the bar so we could watch the Six Nations, provided me with a beer and coffees for the people I was with. Not only did Italy beat France which filled me with joy was the lounge was relaxing and we were recommended somewhere to get steak later that night.

The room was fine, all you need for a stay and the bed comfortable, my only discomfort was the access into the room, the corridor was a little small to swing a bag in. Bathroom fine and water pressure ok. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and there was plenty to choose from on the cold side but my only complaint was that the full English had only one egg and one sausage, but being the home of the Black Pudding this was overlooked.

We paid a visit to the pool and jacuzzi and apart from being a bit tired they were ok, steam room was down for repairs so we relaxed in the jacuzzi watching an array of workmen plying their trade around the pool. Gym looked ok but was a bit busy with the locals so we gave it a miss. All in all for £70 we had fun and it was a world away, but close enough to wander into Ramsbottom for a mooch.

Lovely location. Excellent facilities. Breakfast first class and staff helpful. Enjoyed the leisure facilities and used swimming pool and solarium. The hotel is in a lovely area but any one with mobility issues would struggle walking up the hill, but if you are in a car you would be fine. Would reccomend.

This Hotel is great, can't fault it. The location is good, the staff were all very polite and efficient and our room was excellent, we got a free room upgrade which is a perk of having a Best Western Gold Card and the room was very spacious with four poster bed, leather settee and modern bathroom, which all were spotlessly clean. The selection of beverages was more than other hotels offer in the rooms.
We had evening meal in the hotel restaurant which was fantasic, the menu had a great selection and all we had was freshly cooked and of a high standard, the waitress was lovely and couldnt do enough for us.
Breakfast was just as good, great selection of cereals, cold food as well as hot food and served by very polite staff.
My husband used to swimming pool, steam room and sauna and said these were great facilities and the leisure club receptionist very helpful.
Check in and out were easy and the receptionist was pleasant and efficient.
We will definitely be back as we thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay, albeit only for one night.

Room Tip: Room 38 with the 4 poster!
