We visited on a cold dark wet Thursday evening after trying to book for a fortnight . No reply to telephone calls however eventually managed to leave a message ad received a call back almost immediately. I purchased a voucher for garlic king prawns ,venison ,chips and salad sharing platter. Amazing ! Visually appealing and well cooked. Great taste. Just my kind of food . This place should be packed out night after night . House wine excellent quality and desert cheese and biscuits for me perfect choice great chutney and offer of extra biscuits much appreciated all washed down with a fine port. My partner's toffee meringue with winter berries and chantilly cream was divine and i dont do deserts! Would highly recommend The Olive Grove . Service very attentive. Only down side was decor and lighting. Needs attention to create the right atmosphere but that aside great food and great find. Well worth a visit. Early dine 2 course menu next on agenda for us.

It's a little gem of a place that I'm surprised isn't busy on a Saturday night. The menu isn't packed with lots of choice, but between the 6 main course choice it still hard to single one out. You can't fault the food, but the customer service could do with a little focus.

We shall return again (for a 3rd time) as we do like the place.

Thank Robert G

We visited the Olive Grove on a wet day after a walk up on Holcombe Moor and found it to be relaxed, comfortable and friendly. It seemed clear that the staff didn't expect anyone else to be dropping by on such a day and being a fairly small bistro many of the tables are for two so a larger table was prepared right away. Between us we orderd the cheese and onion pie which came with a salad, a beef and onion ciabatta that also came with a side salad and nocchi and a goat's cheese salad. The price was reasonable, the food was well prepared and the portion size generous. If anything the cheese and onion pie was slightly low on flavour for me but this is a pretty subjective point. Some idea of our orders can be gained from the photos submitted. The attention and speed of service were both pretty good although this wasn't a busy day for them. Inerestingly, you can extend your visit here by heading downstairs to make a purchase from the delicatessen.
If you want to stop off somewhere friendly and enjoy nice food The Olive Grove would be worth considering. They do have their own website where you can find some further details including opening times (at the time of writing they are closed on Monday and Tuesday) - www.theolivegroveramsbottom.co.uk and if you wish to sat nav your way their you could enter their postcode - BL0 9AG - though the nearest parking is either on street nearby or around behind the buildings a little further down the road towards the railway.
