No pretensions here, but you get an honest meal and the usual pub drinks range at a reasonable price. The staff are helpful and pleasant, the food is always well cooked if unadventurous.
It's all low timber ceilings in the bar area; the restaurant end is a bit plain, though. The place tends to be very quiet in the week, and busy at the weekend.
This is our first choice for a "I can't be bothered to cook tonight" evening.
