“Nice Pub, Excellent Food”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

Found this pub after searching Google for somewhere to eat in the Chester area after our weekend away. Friendly staff and good value for money. Food was excellent and portion sizes were very good.

If I was to be picky, the only thing I would suggest is to alter your menu, as the Deli section states it is served weekends 12-5pm, but upon ordering, we found out this apparently does not include Sunday which is a bit odd. On the plus side, this resulted in me changing my order and I can say you do a very good Sweet Chilli Chicken & Veg Stir Fry! Highly recommended!

“very very good !!!!!!!!!!!”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

first of all we are from warrington and we found the plough whilst searching for a dog friendly pub where we could have a good walk.
onto the pub, clean as a whistle (i'm a carpet and upholstery cleaner) prompt service at the bar and they opened a tab immediately showed menus and order taken by waitress
food was excellent all 3 courses if it wasn't home made it appeared and tasted like it
landlord joked about one of our dogs barking even before he saw he is 4 months old and nothing like our 8 year old dog and never took it any further
in a nutshell this was as good a pub visit as we could have wished for and the food was 10/10
wife recieved an apology about dessert portion size until she made it clear that the portion wasn't the problem it was the fact that it was ordered to share between her and our daughter but on tasting it our daughter demolished it without my wife getting a second spoonful

“excellent food”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

Have eaten here many times and once again not disappointed .A lovely restaurant in a pretty part of Christleton . Staff are very polite helpful and knowable regards food and drink on offer .
A good choice on menu with a couple of extra starters on special board .
We both had the chicken breast stuffed with haggis and wrapped in bacon with mash potatoes and neeps with a whiskey sauce . Absolutely delicious presentation was perfect ,they must have a very good chef in their kitchen
Followed by rhubarb and apple crumble a classic and delicious again big portions .
Will defiantly be back a perfect meal on a Saturday night out post Christmas

“Lovely sunday lunch”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

The sunday lunches here are enormous! Very tasty and fantastic value for money. We have visited here several times and the food has always been great. The size of the portions is not rivalled anywhere I have been for a sunday lunch, and the yorkshire puddings are good too!

“Friendly greeting, good food”
Reviewed November 24, 2012 via mobile

Visited for lunch with ten retired colleagues.
The staff were good humoured, served us cheerfully and, without being obsequious, checked that we were all happy with our food and service.
After a good two hour lunch we only stumped up £12 each to cover our meal and a couple of drinks and included a modest gratuity.

We are planning to hold our next reunion at the Plough.

Well worth a visit.
