“PRIVATE ANNUAL DINNER DANCE”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

Once again the staff at Headlam Hall excelled themselves at our Annual Car Club Dinner Dance. Our number were depleted this year due to the bad weather so next year we hope to return in the spring. It was very cold outside which meant that some of the rooms could have done with being a little warmer.

Just returned from our third visit to headlam. Birthday/wedding anniversary celebration with my husband. You cannot fault the hotel, Staff, food and spa. The attention to detail ranging from the rooms to the food to service is second to none. What we like most about this hotel is : the staff are so friendly and helpful. Particularly Andrew (manager) who "shines". He is a great asset to the family who own headlam Hall. Dave Hunter (head chef) has to be the most talented chef in the region, enabling us to try delicious, locally sourced food we would not usually have at home, adding his contemporary twist to each dish..fantastic... and the luxurious, tranquil spa which leaves you feeling energised which has to be a bonus in this stressfull, fast moving world in which we live in!! Thankyou all for a wonderful stay. We are already planning our next visit. We would recommend this hotel 100%.

We have just returned from Headlam Hall after 2 nights over the New Year with 6 friends ( 4 couples ).We have been to numerous hotels over the past 12 years and take it in turn to organise the "do" for new year. It was our turn this year and saw Headlam on the internet. We went to the hotel to see rooms and enquire about the evening celebrations and were greeted by lovely staff who were very efficient.

The Hotel, food, service and entertainment were the best that we had enjoyed in our twelve years of New Year celebrations. The food in particular for mass catering was exceptional and the staff were excellent throughout our two night stay.

The only fault I could find was that, on our first night, a promised a la carte menu turned into a table d'hote menu with only two choices for starters and main course. Other than that oversight I can only say that I would recommend the Headlam Hall New Year Package to anyone and we have already booked for next year.

Room Tip: Rooms in the main house are traditional. Rooms above the Spa are modern.

On Saturday 29th December, my husband and I celebrated our marriage at Headlam Hall. It was a wonderful winter wedding, Headlam Hall is stunning, the food was delicious, the staff were amazing! We couldn't have asked for anything more. Perfect in every way x

Room Tip: Lots of choice to suit all styles - we experienced rooms in the main hall, the bridal suite and the...

We stayed again at Headlam Hall to celebrate my Dad's 65th birthday. We joined the party night which was really good. The food was brilliant, and there was a good band on. The hotel has a lovely lounge area in the main hall where the bar service is very attentive which was great to relax in over a drink before dinner.

The hotel is really traditional and offers a very good standard of accommodation and food. Parking is easy and free. We enjoyed the spa which is probably one of the highest standard pool areas in the region. The spa area is very modern, clean and with good service should you want a drink by the pool, or in the hot tub.

David (Ops Director) again looked after us very well. All of our party really enjoyed the stay. I feel the hotel offers good value, great service, great spa facilities, and a nice breakfast. Definitely a country house hotel I could recommend.

Room Tip: We stayed in the main hall which is lovely. If you have dogs, they have rooms that can accomodate th...

stayed here last weekend . i was a friends plus one at a wedding night reception. my friend and i sampled the spa whilst the main guests did the day time thing. it was small but perfectly formed. dowwnside is only enough room indoors for 6 loungers pleanty ouyside but not for me on a cold december day! hot tub and preseco lush lush lush.our room in the main building was huge with everythingwe could need tea and coffee making and iron and iron board lovely toiletries in a very impressive bethroom. staff were excellent and served us with tea coffe and night caps at 1 in the morning with smiles on their faces nothing was a problem. would reccomend this lovely hotel to all.

Room Tip: we had twin no 6 barnard room which was very spacious and well appointed

We chose a room over the spa following advice on tripadvisor and we weren't disappointed. The rooms are really modern and have the extra benefit of being directly above the lovely spa complex. Be sure to use the spa and the outside jacuzzi.

The reception staff were very welcoming. I had tea on arrival. The sandwiches were an unusual mixture including tuna which isn't my favourite but everything else on offer was delicious and I was able to relax in front of a roaring fire with a newspaper provided by the hotel.

One of us had a late flight into Newcastle. The bar staff were extremely accommodating and made us sandwiches even though it was very late and the kitchen had closed.

The choice for breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room is in an airy conservatory.

Don't miss a stroll around the lovely garden even in winter!
