I had a disappointing experience at the Tortworth having booked a one night stay with BookaSpa. The spa facilities are very basic - the pool is naturally for all guests of the large hotel. When we stayed there were two weddings on so it meant the pool was extremely busy with guests, leisure club members as well as spa break customers. There were no poolside or post- treatment relaxation areas. Therefore the only place to relax was in the bar area of the hotel.
The spa staff were very helpful and accommodating after the treatment times on our confirmation from BookaSpa differed to their appointment records.
I would not recommend the Tortworth Four Pillars for a spa break or a booking with the hotel through BookaSpa.

We are very disappointed that this reviewer did not enjoy their spa break at Tortworth Court. Our leisure facilities, including swimming pool, gym and Jacuzzi are for all our guests to make use of during their stay, whether they are leisure guests, leisure members or business guests and we are sorry if when making the booking with Bookaspa they were not made fully aware of this fact. Thank you very much for your comments that the spa staff were very helpful and accommodating when making your bookings. We are pleased that you found Tortworth Court to be a lovely hotel.

Have just spent a night at this beautiful hotel. My husband, my son and myself were there for my son's graduation. As mentioned by others this hotel is a labyrinth of corridors and in our case quite a trek from reception. Upon finding our room ( which was for a quick change of clothes ) we were more than happy with what we saw, After the presentation ceremony there was a small buffet and drinks provided, Staff were very attentive and as soon as a glass or plate became empty it was removed. Back at my room and ready to settle down I became aware of how "firm" the bed was, Having said that we slept well. The next morning (and in the daylight) I began to notice a few things, There was a couple of dusty patches, One being the bedside lamp, The curtain lining was ripped to shreds. Also, although not bothered by them as such, for some reason there was a fair few Ladybirds in the room, Mostly around the window and a few in the room. I have no complaints as such about the breakfast we had, There was a good selection to choose from and plenty of it but some of the "hot" foods were a little on the cool side. I did not complain to any member of staff about my stay, We did enjoy our brief stay there and will stay there again if we are down that way again.

We are very pleased that you and your husband not only enjoyed your son’s graduation but also your stay at Tortworth Court. With 190 bedrooms we do cover a large area of land and our reception staff always give guests a map of the grounds and indicate the closest car park available. We are currently refurbishing most of our bedrooms and feel sure that this reviewer will notice a vast difference on a return visit. Thank you very much for this review, your kind words for our attentive staff and we look forward to welcoming you back to Tortworth Court.

Just back from a two day conference. This hotel is absolutely stunning. Beautiful grounds. Food amazing and the bars are relaxing (needed after a busy day) There is a bit of a hike to your room (but short cuts can be found) Staff were incredibly accommodating and I am certain they would help with luggage etc if required. The room (mine was 332) was spacious, warm and comfy. Hairdryer, safe, iron and board, tea making facilities, huge bed, tv...in fact, everything you need.

Hotel is really impressive looking and the entrance hall to the reception area is great too. First impressions are good and overall the only negative is having to possess orienteering skills to make your way to & from your bedroom!! A series of long, narrow and right angled turns make it very difficult to find your room - you do need to pay attention to EVERY sign en route to arrive at your room.
My room was a bit on the small side and difficult to actually pull my case in behind me due to tight angled direction changes.
Breakfast in Moreton's Restaurant was really good with both hot and cold options available and in a fantastic room with lots of period features oozing with character. Staff throughout were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Perhaps ask for one of the original rooms in the hotel.

Tortworth Court Hotel is an impressive Victorian manor house built as a private house on 1853 and does the entrance into the reception area, with its sweeping staircase and high ceiling is also very impressive. Set within 30 acres of woodland and formal gardens we do cover a large area of land and some of our bedrooms in the old stable block can be a few minutes’ walk from our reception area but this does allow us to allocate guests away from the noise of any functions taking place within the hotel grounds. We are very pleased that this reviewer enjoyed their stay, found our staff to be friendly and helpful and thought our restaurant, the library in the original house to be a fantastic room oozing with character. Thank you for this review and we hope that you will visit Tortworth Court again soon.

Just back from three nights at Tortworth Court and though it was ok it didn't really do it for me. It's a magnificent building in wonderful grounds but Reception staff are not the most helpful. Had to change rooms after first night as was close to two fire doors which banged loudly and kept waking me up. (Room 114). Endless corridors and little porterage meant we were acting as unpaid direction givers to masses of bemused Americans. Our two group Dinners were very ordinary and both my fish courses were cold, however other people enjoyed their meat. However, the rooms are spacious and clean and breakfast was perfectly acceptable. More a business hotel than somewhere for a luxurious stay.

Room Tip: If you don't want a long walk ask for a room in the main hotel.

Thank you very much for this review of Tortworth Court and your comments that it is a magnificent building with wonderful grounds. Our reception team will always ask guests if they require any help or assistance with luggage and offer every guest a copy of a map which indicates not only where they room is located but also the closest car park to their room. Tortworth Court has 190 bedrooms and we do cover a large area of land and some bedrooms can be a few minutes’ walk away from the reception area but this does allow us to allocate guest in quieter rooms when not attending a function. We are very pleased that you found your bedroom to be clean and spacious. Tortworth Court is a very popular hotel for leisure guests, business guests and also weddings and private parties.

My wife, her nephew and I stayed here for one night while touring the Cotswolds. The setting in an Arboretum is really lovely. The bedrooms are large and well maintained. Getting to and from the rooms to the reception and restaurant area is a bit of a pain, check in and they will tell you the best place to park, but you may need to drive back from the furthest rooms. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was OK, the first courses were much better than the main courses. Breakfast the next morning was very disappointing, the warmers they use were set too high and the food was being cooked instead of just kept warm. Apart from the breakfast I would recommend this hotel.

We are very disappointed that this reviewer did not enjoy our buffet style breakfast which is constantly monitored by waiting staff for quality and warmth but it is only by receiving positive feedback from quests can we improve our standards. Tortworth Court is a Victorian manor house set with 30 acres of woodland and formal gardens, located a few minutes from the M5 junction 14, with easy access to Bristol, The Cotswolds and Bath. With 190 bedrooms we do cover a large are of land but we do have car parks around the building offering easy access to most bedrooms. Thank you very much for this review and thank you for recommending Tortworth Court Hotel.

Hotel and grounds are beautiful. Interior fine, some parts tired but they are clearly refurbishing at the moment. Rooms are in a maze of corridors and nobody could find their rooms with ease, no porterage available. Had a number of small irritating issues, which the first Deputy Manager I spoke with dealt with superbly. The latter issues were also addressed, but that Deputy Manage 'twas not as gracious or courteous.

The spa was very clean and treatments superb. Despite the minor issues experienced I would still go back and recommend this hotel for a long weekend. Not so certain I would wish to go for much longer.

Tortworth Court Hotel has 190 bedrooms and we do cover a large area of land but with car parks situated around the building it is very easy to park close to your room and our reception team will always offer our guests of our grounds and car parks. It can take a few minutes to walk from some rooms to the reception area but this does allow us to room guests away from any noisy function taking place within the hotel. We do normally have a porter available for our guests and apologise if this service was not available when this reviewer arrived. Thank you very much for your kind words for our leisure and spa facilities. We are very pleased that this reviewer would recommend Tortworth Court, enjoyed their chilled weekend and we would like to thank them for this review.
