We have just spent 2 lovely days at Tortworth Ct. Hotel. We have no complaints, the room (53) the food, service & facilities were all excellent. All the staff that we dealt with were helpful & friendly. The pool & spa facilities are lovely. Our food was superb & we didn't feel the need to spend a fortune on "extras" (Although we spent a few ££'s on a bottle of fizz) . We took the Autumn break which was £226 for the 2 of us including Dinner bed & breakfast & use of all facilities. We were lucky enough to get a comp. upgrade to the room, maybe this is because we booked the same day as we arrived! We will certainly be back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the main house on the second floor & it was lovely.

Stayed here valentines day of this year, just thought I woul back the great reviews. Do not hesitate to book this hotel!

Managed to bag one of the executive rooms in the 72 hour sale.. this comprised of a 4 poster bed, massive armchairs and a spacious bathroom. Standards of cleaning were exceptional all around the hotel, including the spa. Pool is large and wasnt to busy.. However I would reccommend they turn up the water temperature in the pool because it was absolutely freezing!

We also booked the resturant for dinner. The 3 course meal was gorgeous! We did have to wait 3 hours however, which meant we were eating our dessert at 23.30, however after speaking to guest services/reception this problem was soon sorted the morning after.

Overall, this hotel is a must-stay hotel and do not hesistate to go the whole hog and book a superior room! Brilliant.

Room Tip: Upgrate to an executive room looking over the car park (quiet and spacious)

Thank you for booking on our 72 hour sale. which is available every Wednesday on the Four Pillars web site. We have two four poster bedrooms and these are ideal for honeymooners or that special weekend away. We do apologise for the wait for your meal but happy that you thought it was gorgeous and good value for money. We thank you for your review and your comments that we are a must stay hotel and brilliant.

We stayed at the hotel for a function, & having been to many of the same types of do, I can say that this was the easily best by far - the hotel itself was beautiful, our room, which was in the main building, was lovely, (no problems as reported by other reviewers). The food in the restaurant was excellent, particularly when compared to other hotel restaurants and the food at the function was just as good as the main restaurant - as people who go to big "dos" will be aware this is very rarely the case. I am coeliac and the staff were very helpful - there is a separate gluten free menu, and they went out of there way to make sure my food was ok.
The grounds are beautiful & the trees really interesting.
We stayed for two nights and I was sorry to go home.
I am used to staying in five star hotels & eating in top restaurants, and this compared well with any of them - the swimming pool was fine for swimming (functional, not fancy), gym looked ok, sauna & steam rooms were what you would expect.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main house

We do hold many functions at Tortworth Court including weddings and private parties and are pleased that this guest enjoyed their particular function. Thank you for your comments regarding the food, we do try to cater for as many food allergies as possible, if we are aware before a guest arrives it does make life slightly easier for our head chef. The grounds are very beautiful and we do have some interesting tree within the arboretum. We thank this guest for their review and would hope to see them back at Tortworth Court very soon.

I'm not sure I have been to the same place as the people before me because I stayed at Tortworth Court for 1 night and thought it was fabulous. Our room was beautiful (stayed in main house) with lovely period features and lots of toiletries and biscuits !
The staff are very friendly and welcoming and nothing seemed to much trouble. We had spa treatments which were ok and the pool room was not as luxurious as the rest of the building but again very clean and relaxing.
As with any old building there were creaky floor boards etc from the room above but nothing that overly disturbed you.
The food was fantastic and I cannot speak highly enough of our meals both evening meal and breakfast. Plates were hot, vegetables not crucifed and choice very good.

Room Tip: main house rooms are beautiful

As other guests have mentioned, the first impression of the hotel upon arriving is WOW! My stay was for a spa weekend, which included full use of all the spa facilities, pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and gym, plus a 25 min treatment. My experience of spas is minimal, but I have seen better. Having to go upstairs from the pool to the sauna/steamroom area was slightly tedious, and the treatment area was quite small, especially the reception area, but the back massage I had booked made up for it,

Dinner was fantastic, the beef and Warwick ale casserole was lovely, especially with the rustic chips, and the staff were very attentive. My only criticism was that the restaurant was very bright, subduing the lighting slightly would have added to the atmosphere.

Breakfast was buffet style, and consisted of something for everyone. I know they are catering for a lot of people, but I would have preferred my egg to be cooked to order. Being kept warm on a hot plate meant that it kept cooking, and my yolk was solid. Once again the staff were very polite, friendly and attentive.

I was accompanied by my stepmum for the weekend, in a twin room, and yes, we have stayed in nicer rooms, but all in all, our requirements were met. Shower could have done with being hotter though.

Ample parking and beautiful grounds, despite being next to a prison! You really wouldn't know it was there.. Short walk up to the village of Cromhall, and nice lunch at The Royal Oak pub. There is a farm shop and tea rooms very close too, with lovely views over the countryside.

Overall, I had a very pleasant weekend, and thank my stepmum for my birthday treat.

The drive into Tortworth Court through the arboretum does have a wow factor whatever time of year and especially during the spring and autumn. We are currently planning alterations to our spa and leisure area and hope that this guest will return and see the changes for themselves. Thank you for your comments regarding the quality of food at Tortworth Court and on request we can offer poached and boiled eggs with breakfast. We would like to thank this guest for this review and would look forward to seeing them again at Tortworth Court.

There is doubt that the first impression as you come down the drive and enter the hotel is WOW! Then you go to your room through narrow corridors, with dirty walls and threadbare carpets to a room I can only describe as one better than a travelodge!
The room was booked for two through Travelzoo as a luxury weekend.
In the toilet there was one bit of soap and one tiny bottle of shampoo! There was even only one packet of biscuits! I thought it was a bit mean as this was "luxury" weekend!

The room did come with the promised bottle of sparkling wine which was not on their list of sparkling wines the sold so doubtfull if it cost more that a few pounds! The box of choclates turned out to be a 50g box of Lindt (that's six chocolates!)

Staff were very friendy except that they neatly folded our bath towel and rolled it up and put it back on rack, just nice and damp for the next morning!

Dinner was reasonable and was different on the two night we stayed. Breakfast was good with an good choice but not worth the £25.90 it was meant to cost.

We were on the ground floor and the noise from the room above was terrrible, with people thdding around.

Room Tip: Try and stay in the old house and if you cannot, ask for top floor in the "out buildings"

Thank you for this review. The drive into Tortworth Court does have a great wow factor especially when the trees in the arboretum are in their full autumn colours. We are sorry that you felt that the items left in your room did not meet your expectations. We are currently refurbishing most of our bedrooms and corridors and would hope that on a return visit this guest will see a vast improvement in the corridors of the hotel. Thank you for the kind comments regarding the food quality and choice while staying at Tortworth Court.
