“Excellent value for money in a brilliant location for Motorway access !”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

I stayed at The Almondsbury interchange hotel for business, and after reading some of the reviews onTripadvisor and elsewhere i wondered if i had made a bad choice, well i needn't have worried first impressions of the Hotel are not brilliant, it definatly has seen better days, their is ample car parking, i walked into reception and was greeted very politely by the young lady on duty, who gave me all the infomation i needed as to where my room was as to where i could have an evening meal and drink at the hotel bar and where breakfast was served the next morning.
My room was No 42. it looked like it had recently been re vamped and i was really pleased with it, yes the bathroom was a little dated but for the price you can't moan at things like that. The TV was a little tempremental especially on BBC1 & 2 Wales.
The room was clean & tidy and the bed very good for my back.
The shower pressure was not to good but i managed to have a decent shower just before the water went cold.
Breakfast was served in Olivers Restaurant, and i enjoyed the setting to eat my full english breakfast at an extra £2.00 to the room cost, the breakfast was cooked fresh, i would love to have had an extra sausage as i felt wasn't quite enough.there are plenty of cerials, juices plus tea & coffee and toast to choose from, my deal included Room & Continental Breakfast.

Evening meal was very avareage more chips than scampi but it filled a spot !!

Check out was a simple and easy affair.

Next time I'm in Bristol on business, i would definatly stay here again, IT'S EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY and only Seven miles away from the City centre and 300 yards or so from the M5 Jct 16.

Room Tip: Choose any room from Room 42 onwards as i was in this room which is next to the main staircase and d...

At the end of the day what can you expect for £24 (£26 if you 'upgrade' to a cooked breakfast). Yes it has seen better days and the décor gives a whole new meaning to 'passé' but the room are all perfectly clean, the staff are all polite and there is plenty of free parking.

I was down for a concert in Bristol and there was no way I was driving back to Derbyshire straight after, so just wanted the cheapest option that wasn't going to be a living hell. Dead easy to find if you're driving and the 309 bus into Bristol goes past the door every half hour (and the last one back leaves Bristol at 23.00 so was fine for me).

Yes, if I had paid the rack rate (£75 for a double, not sure what my single would have been) I suspect I would have been disappointed, but if you can get a room for just over £20 anywhere else in a city like Bristol that isn't a back-packers hostel do let me know (and I think most days you can probably get rooms at this rate from laterooms or the like).

It has its limitations, but far, far fewer than anyone paying this sort of money has any right to expect. I'd certainly use it again in the same circumstances.

I don't like giving bad reviews but this really is a truly dreadful hotel.

Fiat 500's in '70s colours are cool, bathrooms in '70s colours are not! New carpets smell rather nice, old ones certainly do not, beds last 10 years after 30 they are ruined. The poor staff, pleasant enough have just "given up". Legend has it that the owners have another hotel in Birmingham which apparently is pretty good, so hopefully they will demolish this place and build a new hotel on the site.

This place has three redeeming features though:

1. It is very very cheap (you can book this place for £20/night)
2. It is somewhat better than a youth hostel (no youths!)
3. The FSA give the restaurant a good hygiene rating, so you won't get food poisoning.

But honestly, until they invest some money in this place, avoid it at any price.

Room Tip: Try the Aztec Spa Or the Hilton instead.

Got 5 single rooms at 19GBP each. Was expecting some run down kind of place but was pleasantly surprised. Nice cosy room, with comfortable bed and private bathroom (wich was a bit outdated and could use facelift but whatever). Only thing that dissapointed me a bit was the breakfast that was served only until 9,15am, but was free of charge (continental) and could be upgraded for 2GBP to an Full english breakfast - didn't wake up for that though....
Located right by the motorway outside of Bristol, not much around.
For this price excellent, would recommend.

I needed 2 single rooms for one night within easy driving of Bristol and found this at £19 per room per night inc continental breakfast. This was the same price as a hostal in Bristol and over £30 cheaper than any of the budget hotels. I had very low expectations but in fact it was fine for one night. My room was large and fairly clean, could do with a deep clean but have stayed in worse. Bath had a shower over it which wasn't very powerful but managed to wash my hair. I had asked for a ground floor room for my mum who is 81 however when we got there she was upstairs (no lift) but I managed to get her changed to a ground floor room. Her bathroom didn't have a shower in it so be aware even though they say all rooms have a shower this is incorrect. She wouldn't have been able to use a shower over the bath anyway.
Breakfast was fine though finished rather early for a weekend at 9.15, they also need to sort out the toaster as once through was untoasted, twice was burnt as was shown by the pile of black toast on the side. If I needed to stay for a night I would stay there again if at the same price but wouldn't want to stay there if more that £25 for single occupancy

Room Tip: If a shower is a must make sure the room has one

Good value for money. Rooms clean warm and beds very comfy. AS other reviews say TVs and furniture dated, but for a budget hotel it was comfy and warm. Would stay again and have rebooked for business purposes

we visited this hotel the end of january we thought we got a bargain on ther web site it says baths and showers in all rooms so i was dissappointed when there was only a bath as my husband and i have back problems we can not use the bath the tv was old fashioned and on the floor so when you lay in bed it made it difficult to watch the window frames could have done with a good scrub the light bulbs half were missing we had two half used toilet rolls so up to now my bargin has left me feeling it was not a bargin the best thing about this hotel was the brekfast
no compaints there the staff were very helpfull this used to be a lovly hotel its such a pitty it is starting to look run down.

Room Tip: pay the top price for a good room
