A nice pub with pleasant rooms. We stayed two nights here and all was perfectly nice. A slightly generic pub (but with lovely beer garden) but the food is pretty good and nice they give the option of kippers at breakfast. Upstairs the rooms are good with great power showers and nice bathrooms, with good provisions. Like the pub beneath, they don't capitalise on its historic place in the heart of Wye and it would have been nice if the windows could open further than an inch. Also the service, though always friendly, could have been a bit more attentive and quicker. But these are minor criticisms.

I booked this hotel in advance for a group of friends - 14 in all. I had to call several times with changes in numbers; the manager dealt with the booking in a helpful and efficient manner. It is a lovely old pub with rooms above and in a stable annexe. We filled all but one room, they were very stylishly decorated, comfortable and well equipped.
We did not originally intend to eat at the New Flying Horse as the menu looked a bit basic and we wanted a more fine dining experience. However, due to a problem with the nearby restaurant we had booked (Wife of Bath, who were difficult to deal with to put it mildly) the New Flying Horse accommodated our party for dinner at short notice and with very good grace. THey had just introduced a new menu, not basic at all, everything we had was really nice. The food and drink was very reasonably priced.
My main comment is the standard of service. We were a large party, noisy, boozy and on our annual multiple birthday bash. The staff were so tolerant, pleasant and helpful, we felt very welcome and intend to go back next year (if they will have us!).
There are many lovely walking routes around and about, so this is a great base for a country weekend.
The only downside was the extra bed put in the family room for a last-minute addition was a put-you-up. My friend could not sleep on it and ended up on the floor.

My wife and I spent a week at the New Flying Horse Inn. Staff and management were efficient and friendly, and quick to respond to requests. We ate breakfast there each morning and the food was straight-forward and delicious. The pub was charming. We enjoyed drinks in front of the traditional fireplace. Our room was well insulated from the pub below which has a faithful local/regional clientele.

We wanted a quite evening/night in a village away from the city with good food.

The place is very nice, good clean room, plenty of parking and pleasant staff.

The owner manager took our bags as we arrived a bit too early to check in and said he'd reserve a table for dinner. Unfortunately, he didn't, the restaurant ended up being fully booked so we had to dine in the public bar.

Not pleased by this.

I'd recommend double checking any booking here as otherwise it was very nice and Wye is a beautiful village.

For the second year running we stayed here on our way back from a holiday in France and if anything it had got even better. Lovely friendly staff, fantastic food, cosy room tastefully and compactly kitted out, attractive gardens and a genuine warm welcome for us and our dog. We stayed in the converted stable block and although the space was limited and perhaps not suited for a long stay, we felt it was all pretty much a perfect way to end a holiday. We'll be back next year...

Stayed here for a birthday get away recently, great place to stay for a romantic/country get away. Within spitting distance of lots of loverly walks on the kent downs, close to Leeds castle/canterbury etc. Very nice traditional pub with friendly atmosphere and restuarant part gets fully booked as is a lovely vibe there and the food isnt bad either! Very nice modern rooms and very quite for above a pub! Delicious fry up in the morning with the usual choice of cereal etc too and the landlord is very accommodating and friendly. Would really recomend it for a getting away from it all weekend - and teh first saturday of eveyr month there is a famers market, where we bought lots of lovely local produce, a real village feel to the place, locals friendly too.
