Like most of the previous reviews the bronze caravan we stayed in was nice and clean. The bedrooms & toilet were extremely compact, its a good job none of our family carry any weight else there may have been issues. Also the toilet was away from the bathroom so to wash your hands out of one room down a short corridor and into the bathroom which is abit of a silly design. The pool wasnt as warm as we expected and the entertainment was a bit dismal although the bingo had fabulous payouts it was unfortunate we never won! The site itself was very clean the majority of the staff were friendly and helpful. We couldnt find the crazy golf that was advertised and the site could really do with a shop selling bare essentials else its a drive into eastchurch for a costcutter.
Points to know the only town on the isle of sheppey that had banks was sheerness everywhere else had those atms in shops where you get charged £1.50 or £2 per withdrawal.
The road signs for the shurland dale park are tiny and its quite easy to miss the turning.
We were disappointed with the beach towns leysdown on sea, sheerness town and minster as they were all quite run down and could all do with a lick of paint but it was quite pleasant to see the shops are not open on a sunday!!
Not at all a bad short break for the money .

Park R, General Manager at Shurland Dale Holiday Park - Park Resorts, responded to this reviewResponded October 9, 2012

Firstly, I’d like to apologise on behalf of the park that we did not meet your expectations. We welcome any feedback that will allow us to improve our services so thank you for your review. In regards to your points raised about the entertainment complex, I have passed your comments on to the complex manager and asked him to look into these, and rectify any issues.
Entertainment on offer in the complex is always limited following the end of our main holiday season and consists of children’s activities, appearances from Sparky and his Krew, Link Bingo with our other holiday parks, quizzes for the whole family, prize bingo and often Karaoke. However, whether these activities take place is always dependant on how many guests are in the venue and therefore I apologise if on the evening/s you attending we did not have enough holidaymakers in the complex. Visiting cabarets perform every weekend throughout the season and also perform mid-week during school holidays. I have passed your comments on to our entertainments manager though, so that we can look into hosting smaller group activities on quieter evenings.
We have made enquiries to host a shop on the park, however for the time being we still direct people to the top of the park to use the shop situated there, or a shop in Eastchurch which is about 10 minutes away by foot.
I am pleased that you enjoyed the caravan and I have passed your comments to the housekeeping team for recognition of their hard work.

We booked this instead of going to a hotel for one night, we had a family wedding on the island and it was £115 for 1 night in a hotel and we paid £127.00 for 3 nights. We chose a Bronze caravan as we really only needed a base, I was a bit worried as we had a bad experience with a bronze caravan, Park Resorts, Isle of Wight, but was pleasantly surprised, very clean and nice that the beds were already made up for us, although we had to pay a £5 deposit for a TV remote control, which I thought was quite funny;-) Clubhouse was small but okay, food was very good. Didn't use the pool as run out of time. The only thing we wasn't happy with were the neighbours, caravan owners, they were partying till 2am on the 1st night and kept us awake and just seemed to be loud the whole time we were there day & night!!

Room Tip: For a 7 night stay choose a a silver or gold caravan for more room.

just returned from a short break with our 2 granddaughters aged 5 and 2 at Shurland Dale.
The caravan was spotless and the sight well tended and quite spacious. We found it quite amuzing to return after a day out to find that some empty vans had been moved !!!
We had a bronze caravan which had three bedrooms
We paid for bedding(duvets) and were impressed to see that all beds were made up, which meant that the girls could pick and choose where they slept
Our granddaughters love the Sparky's Krew and very special thanks go to both Katie and Michael who went the extra mile with the girls. The swimming pool was good, as was the playpark. The girls would have stayed at the site all day!!!!
There isnt a lot to do on the Isle of Sheppy so be prepared to spend long days out. We discovered Reculver at Herne Bay and a good beach in Broadstairs.
All staff were efficient and friendly.
On the down side...we had to return home with 2 little girls clutching their Sparky and Sparkle soft toys !!!
This was our firsst holiday with them on our own and what a good experience...we only wished that their mummy and daddy had been with us to share the experience !!!
WELL DONE ALL AT SHURLAND DALE

We have just returned from a weekend break with two other couples to Shurland Dale. The camp site was very clean & tidy, with good caravans in spacious grounds, surrounded by county-side.
The weather was great, so we were able to visit parts on the surrounding area, returning to Shurland Dale from long days out.
Of course the weather might be important to your stay at Shurland, as little happens on the camp through the day, so you might be required to make your own entertainment.
