Would not stay here again given the choice! No hot water damp shower cubical smells of cigarette smoke in every corridor. Not happy at all!! The Thot of staying for another night is not good. Looks like you just need to make the best if what you have. Certainly not home from home. :(

Stayed: April 2014, traveled with friends

This hotel was booked as a convenient place to stay close to Mallory Park Race Circuit for an event the next day but frankly, I'd have almost done as well sleeping in the car.
The place looks old and very tired and this is confirmed inside.

The car park to the rear is a public car park complete with recycling bins, dodgy looking kids, and graffiti.

My single room was actually a twin with just one of the beds removed.
The TV was prehistoric and had no instructions as to how to operate the attached signal booster box. Poor.
The bathroom was just not nice either. Very old, very worn, very cold!
No hot water for a shower. No hot water for a shave. Are we living in the 18th century here?
The windows did little to keep out the road noise from the nearby high street.
The bed was terrible. It must have been there since the place was built! It was sagging badly and everytime i moved it would creak and groan. (I'm not too weighty a person either)

Possibly the worst thing was when trying to make a cup of tea in the morning from the meager offerings. I rinsed out the kettle and noticed that some blobs of something unpleasant were in the kettle.
It appeared that the element was covered in a yucky gungy stuff which, despite my efforts, i could not completely got rid of. So, no morning tea either! Grrrr! Needless to say, by now, I'm not a Happy Easter Bunny!

Fortunately, i didnt book a breakfast but i did have time to eat one before i left! This is because i couldn't get out!
The entire building was locked! No staff, no keys, and no way out!
Eventually, i found a fire escape at the back of the hotel and left by that. No wonder they demand payment upon arrival! And no wonder there are no staff around to listen to all the unhappy customers!

Ok, it's cheap at £36 a night but thats about £26 more than it's worth.

If the owner or manager of this hotel would like to apologise to me for an awful stay, please do so by replying here.

My tip for this hotel? Sleep in the car, or find the nearest homeless hostel!

Room Tip: Look elsewhere.

Stayed here with multiple family members and my 5 month old baby. The staff were friendly and the rooms were adequate. A lovely lady serving breakfast even held my baby so we could enjoy our cooked breakfast!

We were visiting family in the area for a christening and the hotel was conveniently located for us. The hotel is aptly named, it's for travellers passing through and served our needs perfectly.

Spacious rooms and clean beds as well as a big bathroom.

Stayed: March 2014

Had booked through Booking.com but when we arrived they hadn't got a record of our booking ..............this was just the start !

Given a key to room 2 .......there is no room 2 , instead another guest steered us to a ' suite ' opened the door and then had to apologise to my wife , very very basic + damp patches , poor carpet , no valence on the bed but we did have an armchair in the bathroom !

In the morning no hot water ...................then went down to deserted ' dining room ' and ordered breakfast , waited for 15 minutes but it really wasn't worth the wait , just awful , egg fried to death , unbelievably poor sausage , one piece of bacon etc

Couldn't wait to get out , but couldn't , the door was locked , told to leave via the back fire escape !

AWFUL. !

We booked via late rooms.com once we arrived no one was at reception so we waited a short while for our key once we got to our room which was right at the end of the building even though no one else was in the hotel by the looks of it, the first thing we noticed was dust and a very weird smell and the walls are very thin which you can hear everything other than that the bed relly comfortable and the TV worked
