We made quite a late booking but still managed to book a single night which was excellent. Very helpful receptionist checked us in. Room was very light and airy, 2 chairs which is always a plus point. Breakfast was fresh and very well cooked, Owner was attentive but not too friendly, just the right balance. Would definitely stay again. Restaurant was to be recommended, see other review

I had my Mum to stay for a holiday in Norwich and, for a treat, booked 2 nights B&B closer to N. Norfolk where she wanted to visit some old haunts. We booked a Twin room and were very pleased to be given use of a 2 bed Suite, on the understanding that we didn't use the Double Bed. This worked very well for us as the Twin room was small (ideal for children staying with their Parents in the other room) and we were able to spread out into the Dressing Room and sizeable Bathroom. They were large Twin beds with extra pillows and blankets provided in the wardrobe. Everything was spotlessly clean.
The Staff were all very friendly and helpful and even looked up a phone number for me as I couldn't get a signal to use the Internet on my Virgin Android Phone. There is free Wi-Fi there but the signal is poor, as in many spots of Rural Norfolk.
They had done their best to make the old stairs safe to use and Mum managed fine, even though her walking and balance isn't good these days.
Places of interest, like Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall are only a short distance away and we had an excellent day out in Sheringham. We stopped off in Aylsham each day, a Market Town a few minutes drive away, for the shops and Bank, which was very convenient.
There was a traditional Breakfast menu from which one could choose any combination of items. All came very nicely cooked and served and the tea, coffee and toast was served hot when we wanted it. Nothing was too much trouble, you only had to ask. The whole downstairs is a fine Restaurant so all meals were taken in a quiet atmosphere and we didn't feel rushed, even though we were last down to Breakfast on both days!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front are noisy with traffic at peak times if you have to open the double-glazed window...

We have just had a two night stay at this excellent Inn. We were welcomed warmly by the owner on arrival. The room was very clean and comfortable (freshly decorated) with tea and coffee and toiletries provided. It had a nice table and chairs in the bay window where you could watch the world go by. The dinners and breakfasts are faultless and prepared using top quality local ingredients. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. A really pleasant and relaxing stay. Highly Recommended.

We have visited on a couple of occasions, and have really enjoyed both eating and staying at The Plough Inn, Well situated to visit the local area, we have really enjoyed the food here. Home cooked food, with a good focus on locally sourced produce and a speciality of gluten free meals, we really enjoyed the whole experience. I recommend that you try the souffle! Rooms have been refurbished, and are really welcoming and comfortable. Breakfast was fab, cooked to order, and worth making the effort to get up for!

Yet again we had a wonderful meal ,with an excellent menu choice. It was a busy sat evening and the hosts were able to book us a table at short notice so we could bring along our friends visiting from Kent. The food was excellent as usual and when i said i couldn't eat too late due to health problem, the host did his best to make sure i had my meal by "8.30" by taking our orders and serving our meals not long after we were seated. The Norfolk pork just melted in your mouth and the desserts are to die for.Our friends praised our choice of venue and we too would like to praise the hosts of The Plough ,their excellent chef and staff who always give us a warm welcome and fantastic meal.We hope to be back very soon.

This was the third time we have been here. The first was for a warm salad lunch last summer which was good so we came back for dinner a few weeks later and both had the chef's signature dish of slow roasted pork with crackling. This was on the menu again on this visit last week with the comment ' Our customers won't let us take this off the menu' I can understand why as it is delicious. This time we both opted for Gressingham duck on a leek and potato cake in a red wine sauce. As neither of us is a lover of very 'pink'meat we asked if we could have it cooked a bit more when we ordered . The chef obliged and it was perfect. It was served with fresh veg. Delicious. Somehow we found room for puddings and I had meringue with vanilla ice cream and hot toffee sauce. Yummy! I could have eaten two! My husband had hot chocolate and black cherry pudding which he said was like hot black forest gateau which he loved.. I would rate this as one of my favourite local places to eat and would highly recommend.
