We found this hotel through a deal on Living Social Deals, and paid only £69 .We were able to book our room a matter of days before our stay.
The hotel is situated out in the sticks, which made a lovely drive over. Our room was nice and clean, with the basics included (TV, tea and coffee).
In our deal, a 3-course meal was included. We were slightly dubious about the food, but we wouldn't have been more wrong. The menu was lovely, and the food, even more so.

All in all, our stay was very enjoyable. I'd encourage any couple, looking for a cheeky night away to go here. I shall certainly be back.

Room Tip: Check out the hotels website for any deals on.

Booked into this hotel for a cheeky Saturday night away whilst on route to Harrogate. Hotel, beautiful to look at with lovely gardens and terrace area. Bar area extremely comfortable with great staff. Part of the package was dining in the Restaurant that evening, food was excellent, very large portions and again staff very informative and courteous. Breakfast the following morning was wonderful. The old part of the hotel, very beautiful, rooms in new build lets it down terribly. Would we return.....Yes, we enjoyed our stay, but next time would choose to stay in the main building if we could.

Used this hotel whilst visiting the area with a U3A group and what a wonderful choice it was. The hotel is obviously undergoing some upgrading and the bedrooms are adequate to very good, although our room,216, has its bathroom opposite to the bed and the light is disturbing. The food, even a limited menu for a group, was absolutely superb and served by a very efficient, obliging team. Our initial greeting to the hotel, by Tom the Banqueting Manager, was better than and delivered with meaning rather than the usual scripted words. Staffed by a small. hard working team, the result is a very, very well run establishment. An excellent location, outside of York, for seeing some really lovely countryside.

Room Tip: Room 216, double, has not been upgraded and the bathroom light is disturbing to a partner. Room 111...

Having visited this hotel in 2012 and enjoying our stay, we decided to stay there again when we wanted to re-visit York. In between our two visits the hotel had put in a new manger - what a difference.
What was a good hotel is now great. The new manager has tightened up all systems and the hotel runs smoothly. The staff are on the ball, courteous and efficient. any request is handled promptly. The food is superb, hot, beautifully presented and served with a smile. The bedrooms are spotlessly clean and the linen is white and fluffy. There are hangers in the wardrobes - how often have we arrived at a hotel only to find there is nothing to hang that special dress on. There is a hairdryer in the hospitality drawer and the hospitality tray is refilled daily. If anything is needed in between times a call to reception and it appears. We were marrooned by bad weather and lots of snow on our route home so stayed an extra night and got through lots of drinks while we revelled in the warmth and watrched TV in our room.
The only down side is that you cannot get a phone signal inside the hotel, or at least in the areas we were, however, there is free broadband throughout the building, so that helps.
We will be back!

Overall a nice weekend but be aware of the package you book nowhere on booking did it say it was for room only and we booked direct with hotel so all the extras do add up ,as already said it is a little remote roads are narrow and not suitable for a nice stroll to the nearest village we did drive into village for a cold drink at 1 of the local pubs "yes the weather was kind to us" but orange juice for me because i had to drive .Food at the hotel was nice choose to eat in bar as a coach trip did take up restaurant but our choice .Bar prices what you would expect in a hotel .

We stayed at the Tulip for Easter Monday night and wished we had booked to stay longer. The staff were excellent especially Andy who worked the bar and the restaurant .The food was delicious and we had prompt service. The rooms are new build and similar to Premier Inn style but spotless and clean with nice white linen and fluffy towels. Just the ticket for a relaxing break in the countryside

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room and didn't hear any noise

Stayed 4 nights with a number of local friends meeting and having dinner. Booking was easy and was confirmed by return.Arrived on a snowy cold evening. Car parking areas were full each day but had no problem finding parking. Reception could have been a bit more freindly and welcoming.
The food was good with a limited menu and service was excellent, breakfast is a buffet service and the fodd was hot and plentiful, with the exception of the continebtal which beyond cereals and fruit appeared only to provide croisants.
It is essential to book for the evening meal as early as possible for the restaurant but the bar also supplies the same menu.
The bedrooms were sparse but comfortable, the bathrooms were clean but the showere over the bath leaves little room for a larger person.
The hotel is about 12 miles from York and offers transport into the city if booked.
We enjoyed the stay and would recommend the hotel to other travellers.
