We stayed here for one night on our journey down to spain. We decided to pay the extra for somewhere special to stay as opposed to a budget hotel. We were looking forward to getting there and relaxing. We arrived and the welcome was good we had a room in the eaves which overlooked the garden and pool the room was quite small but clean and the views were lovely. We had arranged a cold platter as on the monday night as the restaurant was not open. The platter was ok nothing special, lots of bread with every course. The platter cost us 70euros for 2.The real shock was when we came to pay the bill.We had 4 bottles(250ml)of beer and they were 10 euros each. This definitely took the edge off of our stay and possibly explained why people do not stay in this type of hotel if they are just travelling through france.

The place is an attractive old house that's been added to and renovated. It has charm and an amazing park with a pond off the back; picture perfect. Pros: wifi in room, nice decor, very good bathrooms, excellent meals and at a pretty good price; excellent service and a genuine sense of caring how your visit is going. Downside: no elevator (we left our luggage in the car and just took in essentials, but there is someone there who will carry your luggage); the upper rooms have dormer windows, so you can't take advantage of the view unless you're over 6 feet tall. We were there in June and it was hot; there was a fan, and it did help, but there's no denying that it was a stuffy night. July and Aug might be pretty uncomfortable. That's the price you pay for choosing a place with character; you often cannot get a/c and an elevator. It those things are important to you (and they can be really important) then choose a Best Western or something like that. I say this not to be critical of people who make that choice; especially if you have kids, those things are almost essentials. The website makes it look better than it is, and I find this to be true of almost all websites. So take that with a grain of salt and enjoy the adventure of an individualized place, if you can, with all its pros and cons, because it's the best that France has to offer (i.e., rather than the cookie cutter approach). The one thing that really does need changing are the carpets; they are unattractive to begin with and now look terribly scruffy, creating a bad impression.

This is one of those rare places where you can arrive as a complete wreck (and we have) and leave completely relaxed and restored.
The setting in huge grounds with lakes and woodland is perfect. It is peaceful and beautiful.
The rooms are very well furnished and very comfortable.
The food is particularly good: dinner and breakfast were both excellent.
There is always interesting art on display here and this time was no exception with a rather bizarre and enormous blue polar bear statue in the airy bar and an exhibition of some quite unusual pictures in the dining room.
This hotel is not cheap but its staff alone make it worthwhile. Highly recommended.

4 star hotel in very nice wooded grounds with two small picturesque lakes. Free wi-fi, mini bar, TV. kleenex and washcloths. Heat but no apparent a/c. Helpful staff. 44 euro menu well served. 3km from a town with one bar that serves light food. There is also a good sized supermarket.

This Chateau hotel has the most beautfully decorated rooms with lovely views. The whole building is decorated to a high standard and service was well above average. There is a restuarant and the food is excellent although very pricey. Having a pre-dinner drink in the conservatory bar, admiring the views of the grounds is worthwhile.

We spent 2 nights in the hotel on the way to & from Limoges' airport to the Perigor region. The hotel is just 4 km from the airport so it was very convenient, not mentioning nice and luxurious to start and end our vacation in this beautiful hotel. It is hard to believe that the airport is so close, because the place is really calm and pastoral.
We stayed in room 9 on the pavilion. It was very beautifully decorated, the bathroom was huge with separate wc. The room had a private terrace with chairs, sofa and table - is was lovely.
The restaurant - oh what a restaurant. The food was wonderful and the service excellent. the Chef was very kind and asked everyone if the food and the whole experience was to every one's satisfaction. And it did!
When we came back home we checked the red Michelin Guide of France, and it turned out that the restaurant had 1 star. No wonder.
I can warmly recommend this hotel.

Let's state it straight away. Our visit here has resulted in this hotel becoming one of our top favourites in France and we shall certainly always stay here when using this route (via Limoges) on our visits to France. It is part of the Relais et Châteux group.

Everything about it was delightful - the place itself and its comfortable furnishings, the staff, the grounds to walk in, and most certainly the restaurant.

Since all of the rooms are probably different it is always difficult to make a useful comment. Ours was certainly OK. Large and comfortably furnished but somewhat dark. Others could be totally different.

In another of my reviews I have mentioned how scornful my wife and I are of restaurants where nondescript cooking is heavily disguised by over-the-top presentation. Well the presentation in this restaurant was certainly elegant in the extreme but because it was supported by truly superb cooking the whole experience was a joy.

We can't wait for our next visit and I hope that if you decide to book here you will have an equally enjoyable stay.
