Having not been to the horseshoes for many years as we had found the menu to be limited we thought we would give them a try. Sadly very disapointed again with the choices and the special (Chicken and Leek carbonara) was bland and tastless pre cooked chicken added to cream with precooked leeks and no seasoning obviosly the chef dosen't taste the food before it goes out as any chef would not have sent this dish out. We live locally but will not be supporting this establishment again or recommending it

Came here to meet friends for dinner, as one of our number were staying here pre-wedding. Food was excellent, served promptly, very generous portions!
The thing I wanted to say the most though, is about the absolute generosity of the barman on our first night here. We were staying down the road at the Bull Auberge, and rather stupidly didn't book a taxi in advance at the end of the evening, So spent a fruitless few calls trying to get a taxi to come out, with no success. Resigned ourselves to walking back and the barman offered us all a lift - in his 2 seater! He ferried me and another girl back, by which point the guys in our party were about to walk back, then a local gave them a lift home too! Can't thank them enough, such lovely people!
Sure enough we came back the day after the wedding where they served approx 20 of us all in one go, I was very impressed with the whole place and will be recommending it in future!

We took visiting friends from Yorkshire to supper. They loved their first taste of Suffolk. We were greeted warmly, the dog was made welcome with her own chew, and we settled down to a lovely meal. The local sausages were wonderful, the sea bass and steak and ale pie all passed with flying colours as did the sticky toffee pudding! A lovely evening, would recommend it to everyone. Friends have stayed here and loved it.

Went here for my birthday lunch, service fantastic from walking in, right through til leaving. Very varied menu, difficult to know what to choose, but all meals were excellent, couldn't manage dessert but starter and main course were very tasty and especially impressed that my main was served with gravy but was given an additional gravy boat to ensure you had as much as you liked. Very pleasant and highly recommend.

A friend & I stayed for 2 nights midweek - 3rd/4th April. The pub/B+B has a beautiful traditional exterior & is locatored in a great walking area on the corner of a quiet country road junction. The room we stayed in was the family suite which was lovely & although large still had a cosy, real country feel, large comfortable bed, large flat screen tv & plenty of storage space. The room had large, wide window which overlooked an expanse of fields which was really relaxing especially for a Londoner - a real treat! The bathroom matched the quality of the room with a tub plus shower, all very clean with quality finishings. The crew that worked there were extremely friendly & very helpful. Great country fare, good choice of beers with a large hearty full English brekky (plus many other brekky options).

Definitely recommended.

Chris Barry

Room Tip: Pay the little extra & stay in the family suite room even if you're not a family.

Went to this pub on Mothers Day, the bar was so crowded you couldnt even get to it, I found a member of staff and said we had a table booked for 5 people and a highchair, the waitress said to me that it was booked for 4 people and a highchair and i said no, I definitely booked it for 5 people so the waitress got us a table. The table was so squashed there was no way we could have sat there especially having two over 80's with us. I spoke to a member of staff and explained we needed another table. The staff were very good and sorted us another table but by this time we were all a bit fed up and i had a very hungry 2 year old with us.

Staff were excellent, friendly and dealt with our needs very well but the pub was way to busy, the squeezed people in every gap and it ruined the atmosphere, I know that it was mothers day but i think the pub needs to be less greedy and not book so many people in at one time. The food was lovely though and we ended up having a nice time.
