Description: "The Boot Inn is a very popular eaterie in this thriving village. You are likely to see married couples celebrating whatever they choose with a bottle of pop, as well as younger couples on early impress-me dates. The restaurant itself is beautiful, light and airy, decorated very simply with great sophistication. The crowd is comfortable and chatty. The Pacific Rim/Mediterranean menu is confident and inventive. What's cooking? For starters, try the asparagus spears with pancetta and cherry tomato salad, or the speared tuna nicoise. For mains, you could have the straight forward ribeye steak au poivre with chargrilled tomato and frites, or a complex dish like the spatchcock poussin with lemon, marsala, and rosemary and whipped potato. Very strong wine list."

Normally eat midweek lunch here and food & service are both good.
However, it took me 3 attempts today to get someone to allocate me a table.
Ham Hock starter was excellent - very inventive starter. The burger was tough and chewy with no real beef flavour. Stodgy is the best description.
The manager must really get a better grip at busy times.

After my recent visit and report I did pay a second visit to the Boot. Much better this time and they have taken some action to deal with the problem of having to pay for a meal in the garden before it arrived. We were well looked after, the food and service were excellent and the place seems to have returned to what I had experienced in the years past. Thank to the management for sorting things out.

We went here whilst staying the night nearby. The service was brilliant, plenty of staff. The place had a real buzz about it and was very busy. The food was very good too!
However, it is on the expensive side.

This is one of the best pubs in the area. Great food. Busy, but excellent service. Expensive, but worth it for the quality of food you get.

We visited for a fathers day lunch and understandably it was very busy, however we had to wait a considerable time between ordering and courses, the food was ok but the temperature and noise in the restaurant was at times heavy going. I would probably not go again at such a busy time.
