This Guest House was recommended to us and did not disappoint. Room was quite small but adequate and very clean. Breakfast was normal for this type if accommodation and the full English was served hot and was enjoyable. Would recommend and use this Guest House again.

Just come back from a weekend at st Andrews Lodge we had a fabulous weekend. We had room no 1 the large room upstairs with a balcony, a really lovely room, clean and fresh. We had a stroll along selsey beach and a trip into Chichester which is lovely and quaint. Fabulous relaxing weekend.

Room Tip: Room number 1 is lovely

Thank you for your kind review. Glad you enjoyed your stay in Room 1 our balcony room. From next year we will have more beach walks in Selsey as the new Medmerry Nature Reserve will be fully open. So hopefully many more relaxing weekends! Ann Humphrey

Stayed 4 nights. Lovely welcome from owners Richard and Anne. Comfortable, spacious en-suite double room. Ground floor location at rear. Quiet, and opening onto patio with own furniture and beautiful garden view. Five star facilities/comforts in room including fridge - so useful and thoughtful. Added bonus of a well-stocked honesty bar overlooking the substantial garden. Unobtrusive, first-class service and ambience. Superb, freshly cooked breakfast with large menu choice and accompaniments etc. pleasantly served in large, airy room with garden views. Many so called 4 and 5 star hotels could do well to take a leaf out of Richard and Anne's book as you don't, sadly, come across such genuinely high standards of quality, cleanliness, service and value for money these days! Can't wait to return thank you!

I have been to St Andrews Lodge, Selsey, many times over the past 11 years, and have just returned from yet another 10 night stay. The owners, Richard and Ann, are absolutely wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble.

There are 5 rooms on the first floor, and I believe I have stayed in 4 of them. All 4 are spotlessly clean, great ensuites, chairs, lovely linen and towels, with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. There are lots of little extras like toiletries, cotton wool, cotton buds and sweets. The other room upstairs is a lovely big one, with a large bathroom and a balcony, done to the same extremely high standard.

If you want ground floor, there is a choice of 6 rooms. There is a large room with a lovely ensuite on the ground floor of the house. There are also 5 lovely garden rooms, all brick built and done to the same very high standard. And they have fridges, too. Book Room 10 if you need a place that has been adapted for disabled people. My father stayed in that room and had no problems.

If you have a dog (or more!) book one of the garden rooms. You will be most welcome, but it would be a good idea to keep your dog under control as 2 cats live here!

The back garden is very big and absolutely beautiful. There are various seats, tables and parasols which you are welcome to use. When the weather is dry, there are also cushions. The front garden is also lovely with a great variety of plants around the borders, and the centre of it is given over to parking.

That brings us to breakfast. The menu is HUGE!!!! Orange juice, apple juice, peaches, prunes, melon, grapes, pineapple and grapefruit. A large variety of cereals. Porridge. An assortment of yoghurts. Full English, with the option of a vegetarian sausage instead of pork. Boiled egg. Then scrambled egg, poached egg, mushrooms or beans on toast. Kippers. Toast. You can have as much toast as you like. Locally made jams and marmalades. (I wonder if I've forgotten anything?) Tea, ordinary or Earl Grey, coffee and a host of fruit and herbal teas. These are all served by Richard, and he has just the right attitude for looking after everyone. And Ann does the cooking. I promise you'll enjoy the cooking.

If you have a celebration coming up, ask Ann to cater for it. How about a special wedding anniversary?

If you've been out all day, and don't fancy going to a restaurant, you can bring back a takeaway and eat it in the bar. There's a cupboard with place mats, plates and cutlery. There is also an Honesty Bar. Take what you want to drink and write it down on a slip of paper, together with your room number. There's also crisps and peanuts available. If you need help, ring the bell on the counter.

Relax and enjoy your holiday!

Room Tip: A couple upstairs, Room 1. A couple downstairs in the house, Room 11. Bringing a dog, Rooms 6 to 10...

We have stayed at the St Andrews Lodge twice in the last year and every time it has been superb
The owners Richard and Ann are always very helpful. The accommodation is very good indeed, particularly the garden rooms. There is a tranquil garden at the back which you can sit in and have a glass of wine. We are keen cyclists and they were very helpful with regard to storing our bikes in one of their sheds. The highlight though was the breakfast which was fantastic.....the full English was right on the button.......all in all a highly recommended guest house.....we intent to come back again

Room Tip: Try and get one of the garden rooms as they have loads more space....immediate access to the lovely...

We are so lucky as we booked this room 2 days before we stayed and was not disappointed. The owners are so welcoming and the rooms were so clean considering we were able to take our dog. Breakfast was amazing with lovely fresh fruit, a selection of cereals and lot more followed by a tasty full english breakfast and the service was excellent.

Will stay here again!!
